Hi all, I want to share this quick fix regarding hostpool session hosts in 'shutdown" state even when Azure VMs are running and are accessible by administrators (via RDP or remote access software): 1. Uninstall all agent, boot loader, and stack components 2. Remove the session host from the host pool 3. Generate a new registration key for the VM 4. Reinstall the Azure Virtual Desktop Agent and boot loader https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/troubleshoot-agent#step-1-uninstall-all-agent-boot-loader-and-stack-component-programs15KViews2likes6CommentsHosting Desktop Applications in Azure
Hi, I have an Desktop Java Application. What are the solutions available in azure to make desktop applications available to users. Which needs to be accessed by multiple users. Currently below is the solution that we are using We have the package in Bastion servers. Bastion servers are accessed via P2S connection. We have SQL database hosted in VM and only app server can access it.144Views0likes4CommentsBulk Start/Stop of Azure Virtual Desktop Session Hosts in a Host Pool via Single Trigger
Hi Community, We manage an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pool with a large number of session hosts (e.g., around 100), and we’re looking for a way to start or stop all session hosts in bulk using a single trigger—preferably via PowerShell or an API. Currently, we use a scheduled script that loops through each VM individually to start or stop them, but this approach doesn't scale well. We’ve noticed that the Azure Portal provides a one-click option to start or stop all session hosts in a host pool, and we’re trying to replicate that behavior programmatically. What We’re Looking For: A PowerShell command or script that can start/stop all session hosts in a host pool without iterating through each VM. If PowerShell doesn’t support this directly, is there an ARM template, Azure CLI command, REST API, or any other method that can be triggered from PowerShell to perform this bulk action? Any official documentation, community guidance, or examples from someone who has achieved this would be greatly appreciated. Goal: To simplify and optimize our automation by using a single command or API call to manage all session hosts in a host pool, rather than looping through each machine individually. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!174Views0likes3CommentsAVD that are based in the US are somehow being provided with a UK ip address by Microsoft
AVD that are based in the US are somehow being provided with a UK ip address by Microsoft. We came to know this because some external clients are sharing documents to some of our users. They have a conditional policy to block access outside US and our users are being restricted. Came to know that the AVDs IP are somewhat being provided with a UK ip address by Microsoft.118Views0likes1CommentEmbedding remote desktop web client in IFrame
Hi, we are currently working on a custom solution for a customer that builds upon Virtual Desktop. We have built a "cloud hub" website where the user manages everything from their profile, storage, viewing costs and dashboards. The customer would like to embed the Azure Virtual Desktop web client inside this website (i.e. not opening a new browser window/tab). Is this possible today? I tried creating a simple test.html with only an iframe tag and the page (as shown below). See attached image for result: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/arm/webclient/index.html" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>7.3KViews1like7CommentsFSLogix Blog Update: FSLogix release changes and Windows multi-session updates in Azure Marketplace

Hi, This is for Windows Cloud PC. We are trying to restrict access to our user by conditional access in Azure, but it isn't working according to what restriction we have in mind. The plan is: > Access only on Windows Cloud PC (should not be able to access it any device without loggin in on Windows Cloud PC) and can access outlook on the web, teams on the web using Microsoft Edge on the Windows Cloud PC environment. Created a conditional access and the result is, it restricted from accessing outlook on the web, teams on the web on other devices without signing on to Windows Cloud PC but when on Windows Cloud PC, the user can log in to WIndows Cloud PC but when accessing outlook on the web, teams on the web using Microsoft Edge browser, it is also restricted. Thanks Mv1.1KViews0likes2CommentsApplications not launching with latest AVD update
Hello there fellow users - first time poster. I also have an open ticket with Microsoft with this particular issue. I feel like this is something obvious I'm missing here though and any ideas would certainly be appreciated. My org utilizes AVD for connecting to a AVD pool of terminal servers for end users. Within that pool are application groups and clients assigned to the groups, although application groups by and large have the same clients. Here's our typical workspace: The issue we are currently having, is that with the last 2 or 3 recent versions of Remote Desktop, and only on SOME computers, is that the applications will not launch properly. The application will begin to launch for a second or so, and then stop and disappear. This is the last thing an affected user sees before the launch box disappears (AVD will remain open): As a work around, we've had affected users/workstations remove the latest version and install version 1.2.2688.0 where this behavior does NOT occur. There are no relevant windows event logs from what I can tell. All affected users are using Windows 10. Here are my AVD RDP Properties in Azure: Thank you!3.7KViews0likes4CommentsAzure MSIX app attach
Hello, we have the following problem. We have created a hostpool with a VM which is joined to our on prem domain. Furthermore we created a storage account which is also joined to our on prem domain. The filshare can be mounted on the VM and can be used. However, when dropping a .vhd file and trying to attach it to the Host Pool as an MSIX package, an error occurs that no MSIX packages were found on that path. According to Github this error message could be caused by too few permissions. Which permissions must be set for user and VM? Thanks a lotSolved2.8KViews0likes7CommentsDigital event: Modernize and Migrate with Hybrid Flexibility
