Is there a way in MS Teams to change or 'try on' different backgrounds before or without starting a new meeting? I have been able to upload backgrounds and test them during conference calls, but have not been able to view them outside of meetings.Solved1.1MViews13likes41CommentsHow to Prevent Teams from Auto-Launch
Hi guys, I plan to deploy Teams in my company, and there's a headache. I don't want Teams auto launches when system starts, and when I install it, I use this script: msiexec /i "%temp%\Teams_windows_x64.msi" /QN OPTIONS="noAutoStart=true" It works, and after a reboot, Teams icon appears on desktop but Teams doesn't launch. And I double-click the icon to start this app, then close it, and then restart my laptop, Teams auto launched, and I found the registry item: Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Value: com.squirrel.Teams.Teams Data: %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe --processStart "Teams.exe" --process-start-args "--system-initiated" My Question is: Is there a way to set "auto-start application" is uncheched as default option? Thank you in advance. :)Solved680KViews10likes46CommentsDelete Posts from General Channel
Hi All, I know that I can not delete a general channel but I would like to delete posts to clean it up. Currently, when I click the "..." on a post the delete option is not available. I have read in other threads that this option needs to be turned on but I can not find instructions for doing so. I contacted my IT department and they can't seem to find this option either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved608KViews1like32CommentsYour Sign-in was successful but does not meet the criteria to access this resource
I was Ignite for the first time and an MVP, Chris is memory serves, suggested I post this here because he had not heard of this kind of an issue before. The end result we are looking for is for a public school director needs to access a team as a guest in you local government's tenant. She receives and accepts the invite successfully in our tenant and the logon is added to the drop down in the upper right corner like you would expect. She has a teams license in our tenant and is a member of our pilot team as well as a volunteer organization's team that she is a member of. When she hits the drop-down list and select's our local government's option she is prompted to logon again. I am not sure if I redacted too much but there is a screen cap of it in the top part of the inserted pic at the bottom along with the two following prompts. LMK if I took too much data out... Anyway, some other tidbits that may be useful are that they use MFA where we do not for everyone. Both her and I have access to the same team and both have the same issue, even though I have MFA turned on. The last page has some data that might be useful and is included at the bottom. My main takeaway there was error code 4c7, which may point to modern authentication. She is using the Teams app and has the same results both at home and school. The MVP I spoke with suggested there might be a strange interplay between our EDU tenant and what our local government is using, perhaps GCC. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction etc! If that doesn't work, try signing out and back in. desktop-… Error code - 4c7 There's a more permanent way to sign in to Microsoft Teams. If you're having trouble completing the process, talk to your IT admin.Solved430KViews0likes6CommentsDisplay online status next to name in Outlook Greyed Out
In Outlook you can see the availability of users next to their name thanks to Lync Skype Teams etc This has disappeared for two users and I have not been able to find a fix. It's greyed out in Outlook: File > Options > People and in Teams: Settings >Register Teams as the chat app for Office the option is already selected. Registry settings is already selected as teams Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers I have tried uninstalling > re-installing teams Office Repair Updating Teams Uninstalling > Reinstalling Office But the option is not returning to default! Very frustrating because they are all the same Intune image and I re-imaged one machine to try and fix the issue but it reverted. Hi all, We've been having issues with students misusing the chat section during remote learning (Teams Meeting). It would be great to have the ability to disallow chat in meetings either during the meeting setup, or in the admin portal. https://youtu.be/GL360ot95YE I read an article in the news last week about a viral TikTok video that was urging people to be careful what they share with colleagues in Teams chat because employers can see all chat messages and chat history. As a result, I decided to create a video answering the question: Can your employer view your Microsoft Teams chat history? Spoiler alert: the answer is Yes. However, as I explain in the video, this capability is typically only used when an employer has a reason to use it and more often than not these reasons tend to be extraordinary (i.e. Investigations of unethical behaviour, whistleblower complaints, allegations or harassment or other). Further, I also explain the types of controls and processes that are put in place to govern this capability and ensure its not misused. Lastly, in the latter part of the video I also demonstrate how an employer can view your chat history as its nowhere near as simple as "pull up someone's instance of Microsoft Teams and look through there chats".341KViews0likes6CommentsMissing "Join" button in Microsoft Teams calendar for meetings from external Users
Hello Everyone, I discovered today that there is no "Join" button in the Microsoft Teams calendar for meetings that were send from external users (not inside our tenant) via Outlook. There is only the link inside the description to open Microsoft Teams in the Web Browser, but there is no direct way to join the meeting. Is this behavior normal for external meetings or should there also be a "Join" button? I don't have the possibility to test it with another external company, to see if it works there. The "Join" button is working properly for internal meetings. Thanks for any help, DavidSolved292KViews2likes27CommentsNew Teams - Backgrounds Folder
Recently, Microsoft released the new version of Teams for businesses, allowing the option to move end users to the new version or keep them on classic mode. However, one thing we've noticed is that the "Backgrounds" folder is no longer present in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Does anyone know where this folder went?Solved275KViews4likes24Comments
