Dear All, Just found out that document library is showing applied filters for each views. Some view shows exactly filters info as shown in 1st picture while some just showing "This view uses classic filters that you can view and edit here" as shown in 2nd picture. If clear the filters, the screen will shows all the documents which should be not allowed to view. Anyone have idea to hide this???18KViews9likes35CommentsSharePoint Modern Doc Library Web Part - Won't display other views
I have been using the new Modern Document Library web part for a few weeks now without issue. Suddenly yesterday around noon, any instances of the webpart I had reverted to the default view of the Library and I could never get it to go back to a non-default view. If I change which view is default, they'll all show the new default. I've even tried with entirely different libraries on different sites thinking I might have messed something up with that library, but with the same results. Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone have an idea of how to fix it? Thanks!14KViews3likes27CommentsShow the total number of files in a SharePoint library
My users (non developers) are often complaining that it is so hard in SharePoint to show: - The total number of files (not items) in a library I know that its possible to see the total number of items if I go to "site contents" and find the document library there. But this includes the folders. Often people are interested how many files are there. Is there any way to do this? - The total number of files inside a folder In the Windows Explorer I can right click a folder and see the number of files in the details. But in SharePoint I can only show the top level children via changing the view: But this info is worthless for most of the people. They want to see the number of files including all sub folders. - Is there a way to archive this? We have huge document libraries and it is not recommended to sync those via OneDrive client. This would be a (bad) way to archive what we need via Windows Explorer. But there must be a way in SharePoint how to do this that does not require a PowerShell skript. Any idea how to (easily, for normal users) do this in the GUI?13KViews0likes3CommentsList item opening in right 'preview' pane instead of new page/selected column item missing
Hello! Previously, our list items would open into new pages, allowing the edit of all fields, however, now (as of 11/01/2020, I believe) our list items are opening in a kind of 'preview' pane on the right and all of the fields are not present. I have already made sure they are all checked off to show, but they are still not showing. How can I fix this OR set up the list to make them open in a new page, the way it did, previously? Thanks in advance!11KViews0likes4CommentsSharePoint Online List View - Auto-Refresh
I have a bit of a strange issue that has only started occurring around a week or so ago. It is only affecting some users and is happening in both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome browsers. I have a list set up (in modern experience) in my SharePoint Online site that is monitored by about 20 people where other users around the company can submit work requests to them. Up until last week, whenever a new item was submitted, or an existing item was modified, it would automatically update in the list view (without having to refresh the page). However now, the only way they can see new items is by refreshing the page. Is there any way we can get the list view to auto-update as and when items are modified/created in the list? Any help would be much appreciated.5.9KViews0likes2CommentsSharePoint JSON View with folders
I am trying to use the Document library sample at https://github.com/pnp/sp-dev-list-formatting/tree/master/view-samples/document-library to create a custom view for a policy library. What I want however is to separate each departments draft policies into folders or document sets (so that only certain members can edit the drafts). I can get the view work for the documents but I would like the folder level to show like normal. There should be no files saved at the top level. Is there any way that I can modify the JSON to check for the content type? This isn't as simple as some of the formats that are applying an additionalRowClass where it checks for a folder since there is a lot of code. Hello, I'm trialling the News feature on a subsite of our site collection and am running into some issues using filtering to display the News by category on the homepage of the site. I added a 'Category' to the metadata of the news articles (and it's mandatory) so that I could set up the news views on the homepage, but these are proving very temperamental. Occasionally the filters pick up and correctly display articles with the selected category, but on other occasions all articles are pulled into the supposedly filtered listing. Has anyone else come across this issue? I've got a backup of filtering in the site pages/news article library itself, but would like to be able to use the News views to display the top articles for our users.4.7KViews0likes3CommentsDifferent views in the same library by location
Hi All: I am looking to be able to group documents a certain way (document sets by customer account--this is view 1) at the highest-level, and then when these document sets are clicked on, display them in a view that shows the entirety of the document set (view 2). Right now it defaults back to sorting by view 1, which is redundant at this level, one level lower. Is this possible anymore? I have followed the per-location steps here and it fails to resolve:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/support/lists-and-libraries/per-location-view-settings-fail-working Any help would be appreciated.4.4KViews0likes3Comments
