Notice: This Code of Conduct applies exclusively to the Microsoft Tech Community. Welcome to the Microsoft Tech Community! We’re thrilled to have you here. Our community brings together people from all walks of life—different backgrounds, industries, countries, and cultures—united by a shared passion for Microsoft products and services. This is your go-to place for learning, sharing best practices, staying up to date on product news, and connecting through live events. Thanks for joining us! If you’re new, check out our Getting Started on the Tech Community guide to make the most of your experience. Our Goal We want the Microsoft Tech Community to be a safe, friendly, and welcoming space for everyone. To help us achieve this, please keep these guidelines in mind: Sharing Content Please avoid posting links to content that isn’t owned or managed by Microsoft, its suppliers, or vendors. Off topic discussions and general support topics will be removed. Attachments, scripts, and code can be super helpful for solving problems—but remember, you’re responsible for running any code shared here outside of official Microsoft channels. AI-Generated Content We welcome AI-generated content when it adds value to the discussion. Transparency is important, so if you share AI-generated content, please clearly state that it was created using AI as part of your post. We reserve the right to remove any content that does not follow this, at our sole discretion. Protecting Privacy Before uploading attachments, double-check that you’ve removed any personal information. Only share content you have the legal right and permission to post, as outlined in our Terms of Use. If we spot personally identifiable information (PII) or anything that looks like it, we may remove it to protect you and others. If your data appears in a post or attachment, you can request its removal by following the Contact Us or using the Report option in the message menu. We’ll review and respond within 10 business days. Your Profile Your profile is visible to other community members. Non-members can only see limited details like your image, rank, membership duration, and overall participation (messages, likes, solutions). Your bio and social links stay are only visible to community members. If you’d prefer not to have a public profile, you can close your account anytime by following the steps in our Privacy guide. Terms of Use If anything in this Code of Conduct conflicts with the Microsoft Terms of Use, the Terms of Use will always take priority. Your Voice Matters This is your community! Got feedback or ideas? Share them on our Tech Community Feedback —we’d love to hear from you. See Something Off? Our moderators do their best, but they can’t catch everything. If you spot something that doesn’t follow these guidelines, please report it by selecting Report Inappropriate Content from the message options menu and let us know why. Need Help? If you have questions about these guidelines, terms, or policies, feel free to Contact Us .238KViews8likes0CommentsNew Tab Page hijacking, forced advertising
Edge has recently started switching off my preferred New Tab page extension and replacing it with its own New Tab page. Worse yet, the default New Tab page doesn't even respect my saved settings like not showing me any sponsored links. This is precisely the kind of behavior that landed Microsoft in an antitrust suit in the '90s. If this continues, I'll not only be uninstalling Edge from all my devices (I'm a Mac user), I'll be filing a complaint with the FTC.1.4KViews2likes2CommentsHow does Teams filter for spam / junk?
I have a Teams channel configured to receive email notifications. It stopped displaying new emails a couple of days ago, even though email notifications continue to be generated. I suspect that the new emails get spam-filtered. How do I check this in Teams?Solved14KViews1like3CommentsMy name shows up as null null, why is this and how do I fix it?
Applies To: All users where their name shows as "null null" Roles Required: Any Occasionally when users register with the Microsoft Tech Community, their First and last names will show up as null null. This typically happens for one of a handful of reasons: The first and last name fields of the identity provider have not been filled in. A recently created account in AAD sometimes has not yet fully propagated to the Microsoft Graph API. An error occurred during registration. How to fix it? For issue 1, the fix is to either go to your Microsoft Account page and enter the missing details or contact your Office 365 / Microsoft 365 admin and request they complete these details for you. Which of these options is appropriate for you will depend on if you're using a personal account or an account provided by your employer. Once these details have been updated then use this login link, it will force the system to try to refresh your profile data from the Microsoft Graph. For issue 2, the only option is to wait a minimum of 8 hours and then use this link to login. Finally for issue 3, try using this login link to force a refresh and if it still doesn't work - see below. Further help Ok, so you have tried all of the above and it is still not working? then you can email the Microsoft Tech Community Team and we will usually get back to you with in 1 business day*. When you do contact us please provide the following information: Name: e-mail address you are trying to register with: Link to your profile: Any additional details or comments: *The Microsoft Tech Community Team are not available during US Holidays.16KViews1like0CommentsPlease delete this spam posts on Microsoft Learn community
