Outlook Legacy Mac doesn't display Latin1 & Unicode in Subject from Gmail correctly
[Second version of this post with fewer Latin1 & Unicode characters) Summary: Outlook Legacy on Mac is not correctly displaying non-ASCII characters in the subject line, when sent from other mail clients, including Gmail. From Apple Mail: Original subject line: Mail to Outlook: Latin1: “®©” Unicode: ✅🚩♻︎ Body: Mail to Outlook: Latin1: “®©” Unicode: ✅🚩♻︎ Displayed by Outlook: In the message list: Mail to Outlook: Latin1: ╲®©╡ Unicode: â˛∑›ƒ˚©â˙»ï¸⁄ In the MessageSource: Subject: Mail to Outlook: Latin1: ‚Äú¬Æ¬©‚Äù Unicode: ‚úÖüö©‚ôªÔ∏é Note that all of the characters in the original subject line display correctly in the message body. Some of the Latin1 characters are displaying correctly in the subject line (in this example the Copyright symbol), but not others, and none of the Unicode symbols. The same email displays correctly in Gmail. The test email sent directly from Gmail displays the same way in Outlook. However, when the message is sent FROM Outlook, the subject and body appear correct. MessageSource: Subject: Mail FROM Outlook: Latin1: =?UTF-8?B?4oCcwq7CqeKAnQ==?= Unicode: =?UTF-8?B?4pyF8J+aqeKZu++4jg==?= Details: Using MacOS 13.7, Outlook Version 16.91 (24111020) Gmail (Google Workspace) is the email provider. The problem occurs when sending via Gmail directly, or another email client like Apple Mail. I tested sending an email from outlook.office.com and the problem does not occur! This leads me to believe it's an Outlook Legacy problem, not a Gmail encoding problem (ie. Legacy is just not supporting the specific subject-line encoding being used by Gmail.)

ubf8t346g9.office- This file size is 180 GB on my imac. Eventually the outlook when started goes into 'repair' and get a message that 'need 200gb of space'. Then I found that in library folder the container had this ubf8t346g9.office which was about 180 gb. Hello, I am using Outlook for Mac Version 16.93 (25011212). When sending emails to a Google Group, the phrase "on behalf of" appears in the sender information of emails received by group members, as shown in the image below. This prevents Outlook rules from being applied correctly, causing inconvenience. I would like to understand in which situations the "on behalf of" phrase appears and whether there are any settings in Outlook or Google Groups that can prevent this from happening. According to internal staff, this issue is also reproducible in Outlook for Windows. I assumed the issue began after configuring SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, but it continues to persist even after those settings were reverted. Some calendar and contact folder are missing on outlook mac
On my friend notebook in outlook (outloook 365 on mac, classic) suddenly some items disappeared from local machine folders. These items were custom named calendras, contacts, tasks etc., not the default ones! Of course I tried the usual troubleshoot steps: outlook restart, machine restart, turn on/off local machine folders in preferences. None of this helped. Finally I checked the "Outlook.sqllite" database, looking for these items in the folders table: they are not found in the sqllite database. At first it seems that outlook deleted all items under local machine folder (without any user interaction), and recreated the default empty local items for contact, calendar and tasks. Years of data are lost :( Question: is there any suggestion what could happend? Is there any tip from the community how to recover these items? New outlook does not seem able to parse project wise links which start with PW://. But not only that it doesn't recognise them as links at all. Emails received with PW:// links are simply ignored and treated as plain text. Replying to the email, the link then is correctly formatted as a hyperlink, but right clicking and 'edit' the link field is blank. This is on any email account. Switching back to legacy outlook and the emails are fine. This is in both outlook for windows and outlook for Mac.
Automatic Activation of Automatic Responses when selecting "Out of Office" as the Appointment Status
Why doesn't outlook automatically activate "automatic responses" when an user sets an appointment on the calender with an "out of office" status. Literally the entire premise for automatic responses is for when an user is out of the office, so how is this not an existing feature? Another option would be to have a checkbox or an option to select "send automatic responses" when creating the appointment, or upon selecting "out of office" as the "show as" status.
