At Ignite we announced a major improvement to the way secure external sharing of files and folders works in both OneDrive and SharePoint in Office 365 and we wanted to share what this means for users and IT administrators alike. Based on your feedback, we have focused our updates on two key areas: ensuring intended recipients get access 100% of the time, and continual reverification of identity.334KViews24likes219CommentsOneDrive Files On-Demand For The Enterprise
OneDrive Files On-Demand has been designed from the ground up for enterprises. Files On-Demand leverages the Windows Fall Creators update to simplify the user experience with cloud storage and sync, bring the power of the cloud into Windows File Explorer, and dramatically limit the network impact of sync on your corporate network.309KViews24likes62CommentsHowto add onedrive for business to file explorer

Started this question a while back on Yammer. What tools do you use to back-up mail and files stored in Office 365? The fact that your files are back-upped inside and outside the datacenters of Microsoft only protects you against hardware and software failures on Microsofts side. It will not protect you against accidentally deleted files and mails, which is discovered after 30+ days or after the site trashbins have been emptied. At least that's what I think. Anyone has an answer? My customers are typically small companies, under 10 users. Sometimes even just 1 to 3. I use de SkyKick Back-up tools in my own O365 tenant. Which was an offer in the Microsoft Partner Mail recently.228KViews6likes179CommentsWhat are the differences between "Green tick icons" & "Solid green circle with the white check mark"
When we sync our sharepoint online document libraries using OneDrive desktop app, we got these 2 icons inside the Status column:- i read this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/what-do-the-onedrive-icons-mean-11143026-8000-44f8-aaa9-67c985aa49b3 but i am still confused about the differences between these 2 icons.. as in both icons we will have a local copy of the file that will be synced with the online version is this correct?195KViews0likes10CommentsDeleted files/folders reappear as they are synced back online from client OneDrive
We are heading towards the end of a big push to get all files in OneDrive or SharePoint. The Finance department (VIPs) are getting very frustrated with deleted files/folders reappearing as they are synced back online from other user's sycned client OneDrives (the name of the user and date/time are listed with the file online). PLEASE HELP. I am also opening a ticket. This is what we have tried: Make sure all sync clients are up to date Try renaming the folder/file and then deleting it from online SharePoint This did not work at all. Both the original and the renamed files/folders reappeared Checked SharePoint permissions. There are some unique permissions on a few documents but in general the members have edit permissions. We had a situation where an end user accidentally deleted thousands for files under a SharePoint document library via OneDrive. The document library itself is accessible to everyone within the company. Is it possible to prevent users from deleting files within a document library and all subfolders? All users currently have "Edit" permissions allowing users to add, update and delete all items. There doesn't appear to be a permission level that allows all this except for delete.Solved141KViews2likes19Comments
