[New Blog Post] In this article I describe my #PowerShell script, which I have made available for you on #GitHub. This script is used to retroactively display the #MSTeams presence status as an HTML report per user. https://www.msb365.blog/?p=5816 #M365 #MVPbuzz38Views0likes0CommentsNew Teams - Backgrounds Folder
Recently, Microsoft released the new version of Teams for businesses, allowing the option to move end users to the new version or keep them on classic mode. However, one thing we've noticed is that the "Backgrounds" folder is no longer present in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams. Does anyone know where this folder went?Solved236KViews2likes21CommentsGreen Blocky Glitch on Shared Screen in New Teams Meeting
I have a user on New Teams that repeatedly has trouble with screens being shared in meetings by other people showing up as a Green Blocky mess on her end. So far we have cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled New Teams, updated graphics drivers, tested her internet connection (measured at 300Mbps down by 35Mbps Up and she is the only user on it) performed normal system maintenance (SFC, D.I.S.M, CHKDSK), and restarts galore. No luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.3.8KViews5likes31CommentsLatest Version of Teams not installing on Server 2019
Is anyone else able to install 24335.208.3315.1951 or higher on Windows Server 2019? We use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management command but since this version it fails to install with "Error: 15606. Package could not be registered." Versions 24295.605.3225.8804 and below install without error. Very strange.Solved6.5KViews18likes39CommentsChanging Users' UPN
We have a situation with a tenant with cloud-only users which are using office apps logging with their UPN like email address removed for privacy reasons. Now the tenant is being synchronized with AD and the users being "soft matched". To do the soft match we must change the "cloud" UPN to match the AD's and that force the users to logoff from the office apps and re-login with the new UPN. Is there a way to avoid that or automate it ? thanks SC22Views0likes0CommentsTeams Premium feature wrong usage report
Has anyone encountered issues with the "Teams Premium feature usage report" not showing accurate usage data? I ran the Teams Premium feature usage report (90-day usage) and noticed discrepancies. Specifically, the report identifies some users as never having used any Teams Premium features, including the Live Translation feature. Has anyone else experienced similar inconsistencies? Is there a known issue with how feature usage is tracked? Any insights or suggestions on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.18Views0likes0CommentsTeam not visible in Teams admin centre or from get-Team powershell by owner and global admin.
In my organization we currently have 16 teams. However in teams admin->manage teams I only see 14. Two of them do not show up. All were create a couple years ago and for the most part have been fine. I also think they may have shown up in the past but no long but my memory is not 100% on that. The 2 team with issue I am able to fully use the team but unable to manage them from an admin point of view. I recently as asked to add some member to private channels in these teams. However I am able to do so. I am both owner of the team and my account has global admin role. I have also run powershell get-Team and only list 14 teams with the 2 in question being missing. Under https://portal.office.com/adminportal/home#/groups > "Active teams and groups" I can see all 16 groups however the 2 in teams question don't have the "Teams" icon under "team status". From this groups window if I click "Add Teams" it tries and comes back with "We couldn't create a team for this group. Please try again." All 16 teams show under "Sharepoint admin center">active sites with "Teams" icon showing share point being connected to the team. Is there a way to reconnect these teams back to there groups? Hello, I have created a community on Teams and I am trying to invite a user and it is not working for them. Here are the details: User is connected to all members of the community team (can chat direct with them, attend teams meetings, etc) User is on osx/iOS platforms and is up today with apps and operating system User receives requests to join the community (email, message links, etc) The user cannot join or see the community. On both the desktop version and the app version the community tab (along the bottom) is not visible. I have an identical laptop and mobile phone and I am the one that created the community and my view versus the view the problem user has is different, in that there is no community tab visible. Help! Most of us have different ways to stay updated and on top of things when it comes to status feeds from various service providers (Okta, Atlassian, Amazon, Miro, etc...). Some of us use email notifications and other text messages. I am about to illustrate the ability to centralize, govern and deliver quickly an operation center linked to all those incident management feeds within your organization. So if you like the idea, stay tuned, grab a good cup of coffee, and follow the guide below. 1 - Create a Microsoft Teams and name it "Status Pages RSS". 2 - Create as many product channels as long as they have RSS feeds. 3 - Pick one of the channels you just created (it could be Bitly or Amazon, for instance). 4 - Right-click on the selected channel and click on "Connectors". 5 - We will use the "RSS" connector, so click on "Configure" to land on the following screen. 6 - You will need to name your connector, add the RSS feed and choose a refresh frequency. I will use some dummy examples for you to see and usually go for the lowest frequency. Name: Bitly Address of the RSS feed: https://status.bitly.com/history.rss Frequency: every 15 minutes. 7 - Once saved, your connector will probably pull some of the latest recent updates published by this company. You will realize that it requires an action we will document below. 8 - As you just most probably experienced a couple of notifications, we will make sure that in the future, this does not happen anymore for this new hub internally to get adopted. We will turn off the notifications on all channels to reduce the noise and avoid spamming half of your team. The last thing you want here is people leaving this new team on the first day because it keeps ringing. 9 - You are all set and should have constructed something like this. Please keep in mind that this article is only a proposal, and you might have found other ways to do this that I am very curious to discover. So please, feel free to comment and join the discussion below. Thanks15KViews0likes3CommentsTeam Android Mobile app syncing issue
I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue affecting a significant portion of our fleet of Android devices. Approximately 10-20 percent of our devices are experiencing a perplexing problem with the Teams application, wherein certain teams fail to sync and update properly. To date the only fix is for the user to log into a web browser version of teams and look at the teams channel it then updates on the tablet. The symptoms of this issue are as follows: despite new posts being made in a channel, affected devices display outdated information and fail to reflect the latest updates. Consequently, users are unable to access crucial information in a timely manner, significantly impeding workflow and collaboration efforts. To date, we have exhausted various troubleshooting measures, all of which have proven ineffective in resolving the issue. These include: Clearing cache and temporary files: This action results in channels appearing blank, devoid of any data, including both old and new posts. Logging out and then back in: Despite attempting to re-authenticate, the problem persists. Deleting the Teams application from the device: Reinstalling the application has not yielded any improvements. Interestingly, we have observed that if a user is tagged in a post, the content becomes accessible through the activity tab of Teams. However, this workaround is not a sustainable solution for our operational needs. Given the severity of this issue and its adverse impact on our productivity, we urgently require your assistance in identifying and rectifying the root cause from the administrative side. Any insights or guidance you can provide to resolve this matter expediently would be greatly appreciated.497Views0likes2Comments
