I have a hierarchy of folders available for all members of the department in a SharePoint Document Library. There are 6 divisions of the department that have their own folder. In these divisional folders, members are allowed to add/edit files here. How do I prevent members from accidentally moving one of those main divisional folders into another divisional folder? What are the permission steps that I can take to make this work? I have attached a photo of my example.29KViews0likes5CommentsBest practice for external sharing: Document Library vs Folder
Hello, I'd like to start a discussion to learn about your point of view regarding best practices for sharing content with external users. I'm currently faced with the following scenario and question. Scenario: A site collection should be set up to allow multiple external partners to access and collaborate with our company. Security wise, these areas should be invisible to each other (thinking unique permissions) so that one partner is not able to see the files/folderes of another. Question: Should I create a document library with unique permissions for each partner or is it enough to share folders as both ways allow for setting unique permissions? What's your take? Thanks!Solved15KViews0likes9CommentsError - To update this folder, go to the channel in Microsoft Teams
I have a MS Team where I manage (1) Permissions and (2) the primary Folder structure of my SharePoint site. Example MS Team Channels: Labor Billing Commercial Customer Service Etc. These Channels obviously create the root Folders in the main Document Library on the SharePoint site. Within the SharePoint Document Library, I had added a new Folder and File "attribute" which I include in the Default View for users when viewing this Document Library... The custom "attribute" is "Title". I did this because often times a file's name may be long and not fully reflective of content, and by customizing my "Title", I can make it more clear to the users. This "Title" attribute also applies to Folders. And to cleanly navigate the Document Library, I also need to edit the "Title" for my Folders. Something has recently changed, and when I try to edit the "Title" attribute of a main Folder (one created by adding a Channel to the Team) I get an error - "To update this folder, go to the channel in Microsoft Teams". (see screenshot below) The problem is that I am not able to edit the "Title" attribute anywhere in Teams either. Any clue how to get around this new limitation? In the screenshot above, I am not trying to change the "Name" field at all, only the "Title" field, so I really believe this error is a bug at the end of the day. Truly appreciate any help and guidance! Brian12KViews1like6CommentsShared folder sync not possible anymore?! Workaround?
Hi guys We are using the OneDrive for Business. (Work) Around 6 months ago, I made a OD share with my colleague from the same organization. He was able to sync this share on his machine with the local OneDrive client. My colleague had a breake for 6 months, during this time he was not working on that share. Today he starts again with the work. We realized that it's not possible anymore, to sync the shared folder (where Im the owner of the share) with his local OneDrive Client. Accessing to the share over web is no problem. Why is that so? Is there a workaround? If not, this fact would make the cooperation work over OneDrive really useless. After research I did find this information: Source: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/add-and-sync-shared-folders-to-onedrive-8a63cd47-1526-4cd8-bd09-ee3f9bfc1504 Thank you in advance.Solved8.6KViews0likes3CommentsFavorites folder Bug in latest Edge Canary Version 81.0.393.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit)

Suggestion (SS): 37 Classification: bookmarks bar PRIORITY IN MY OPINION: 5 on a scale from 1 (low) to 10 (high) I already told you different suggestions about bookmarks bar for example here https://link.ws/tedgbookbar but even in other post too. I already told you about favicon extension bar in safari too. Now what i want is that the bar is able to do what favicons can. If i add 400 links, and each section contains a workflow (for example link 1-50 workflow 1, 50-75 to 2, etc...) i want to scroll such bookmarks, so that i can see workflows link directly. instead of seeing a-g in the bar and h-z hidden, you need to hide a-g (left), show me h-o and hide p-z (inside >> to the right). i still wish i can add custom color to folders in the bar; replace javascript icons with a text (example P for pocket) or an icon (pocket), etc. see more here https://link.ws/tedgbookbar PS: pin javascript links! they are already on the left. so if i visit workflow 2, i want to see my 4-8 javascript on the left, not that you hide it. so we need a feature "pin urls" too, but i already told you about that in other post too (especially pin to the right). your bookmarks bar should work a bit like my touchbar. i have pinned things on the left and right, and i scroll things in the middle.2KViews0likes5CommentsEdge Canary installs itself in 2 places
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\EdgeCore\91.0.852.0 C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge SxS\Application\91.0.852.0 user profile directory is only in "Edge SxS" folder though. I'm not sure what "EdgeCore" folder and a copy of the browser in there is for.1.8KViews0likes0Comments
