Cannot printscreen contextual menu?
Simple question, normally printscreen was just... taking a printscreen. Now it offers you option, so it causes problem. If opening contextual menu on Desktop (Right Click) then doing printscreen... then you have to click anywhere to take a printscreen (select a zone) and it just fails. So there is no way to take a printscreen in that case.Remove the "Update and Shutdown" option
About to go home last night at 7pm and shut down my work PC, but windows has an update. So I selected "Update and Shutdown" and left the office. Today when I clocked in and pressed the power button, I was immediately on the lock screen and when I checked the Up time, it showing as 14 hours. I have "Turn on Fast startup" unchecked on my PC. To microsoft, why don't you just remove the "Update and shutdown" option if all you really wanted to do is to "Update and restart" it? The concerning part about this is the computer is turned on, idling for 14 hours, just wasting electricity. Luckily my work PC is just a laptop but for the majority of work places whose work PCs are desktop which chugs more power even when idle, this is such a waste of electricity. It's ironic that windows 11 has a "Energy recommendations" in System -> Power & battery which says on the smaller text "Lower your carbon footprint...". Lol microsoft, no, YOU lower your carbon footprint by just following what the user selected when turning off their computers, which is "Update and Shutdown".
Insider Program Switching channel
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out regarding an issue I am facing with my Windows Insider Program settings. By mistake, I switched my device to the Dev Channel, but I would like to return to the Beta Channel. I attempted to switch back to Beta and even recovered my system once to resolve the issue. However, after an update, my system reverted to the Dev Channel again. I do not require the Dev Channel and would prefer to stay on the Beta Channel. Unfortunately, I am unable to perform a clean installation of Windows, as my laptop contains private and critical data that I cannot risk losing. I kindly request your assistance in providing a solution to help me switch back to the Beta Channel without the need for a clean installation. My Google Drive has become a total mess. There are so many duplicate files in there. I must clean the drive but do not know how to safely remove the copies. Manual search is not an option due to the sheer number of files. Does a reliable method for letting me easily find and delete duplicate files in Google Drive? A tool that allows a review before deletion would be ideal, as the fear of deleting something important is real. Free options are preferred, but a reputable paid tool is also acceptable. I just got a new Dell machine with Windows 11 Pro installed on it. I wanted use the machine with Virtual Machines as well as Windows Sandbox feature. When I enable Hyper-V feature, the reboot works fine. After than when I enable Windows Sandbox feature, it reboots and goes to a screen with “Customizing feature for you. You’re 100% there. Please keep your computer on.” And then freezes there. Dell says this is software issue and will have to pay for the support. I just got this machine and not so happy that I’m running into this. Only way for me to get out of this is reinstall the OS. I really need the Windows Sandbox feature. That is the main reason for buying a machine with Windows 11 Pro. Any help is appreciated. I am thinking of building a new home NAS to replace my old CentOs one. One of shortcoming of my old setup is amount of tinkering and CMD usage needed to get everything setup. Looking at the best OS system for home NAS let me to QNAP's custom QTS os for their NASes. The review and other features from snapshots, backup, Plex media server all sounds great and seem very easy to setup! Any idea if I should ditch the idea of building my own NAS with CentOs/FreeNAS and go with QNAP just because of its operating system? Anyone know if QTS os really is as good as it seems?Memory recovering after working with Restore Points
Hello, I rolled back the system to Restore Point and then undid it (using Windows tools), which resulted in approximately 60GB of disk space being lost. In other words, as a result of this “empty” operation, the status of the operating system itself did not change, but the memory disappeared. I cleaned the disk using the standard system tools and deleted ALL Restore Points (displayed in the list of available ones, except for the ones mentioned above, which had already disappeared by that time), but the disk space was not fully restored. Why is this happening? Are there other ways (third-party software) to effectively but safely clean up the local disk?
