Outlook
My setup: Home user, Intel Gen12, Windows11 Pro. My Outlook is configured for local storage (POP3). No Sharepoint, no Microsoft Teams, not linked to my iPhone.Very simple setup that I have used for years, apart from having auto update enabled in Windows. I am trying to load an alternate older .pst file that is stored locally on the same HDD. I go to File, Account settings, and try to load the required .pst. I get the error message,"You cannot use an Internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network." This happens as I try to browse to a local file. As soon as I try to access my 😧 data drive I get the nonsensical error. It is not an internet address. Does anyone know what is wrong?547Views0likes5CommentsAdding Outlook to Gmail
For many years, I have been adding my work Outlook emails to my Google Workspace to send email as Outlook from Gmail Web App. I prefer to use Gmail, and this is a great solution to stay away from Outlook Apps. However, recently I've been unable to add my new work Outlook account to my Google Workspace. I go though the steps to add a new account under Gmail settings, and I constantly get the error message "Authentication failed. Please check your username/password...." I used the following settings: smtp-mail.outlook.com OR smtp.office365.com Secured connection on port 587 using TLS I've used my email password as well as app password that I generated in Outlook. Nothing has worked. My admin got on a phone with Outlook customer support, and they said something about "Microsoft doesn't allow sending email as in Gmail anymore" which didn't make any sense, because I can still send email as Outlook on Gmail mobile app. Does anyone have a solution for this?88Views0likes1CommentNew burst of OBVIOUS Junk mail evading Outlook filters
Within the last month, I began to receive 10+ obvious junk mails in my 365 Outlook Family / live.com inbox every day. MSFT help was UNhelpful (e.g., 'whack a mole' by reporting each, set strict filters that route needed emails to Junk folder, etc.). FWIW, I use a VPN, don't post on social media and send/receive <30 emails/day. Are MSFT's talented resources (PhD's, engineers, AI, etc.) engaged in tuning filters to block the crap shown below? I would hope that MSFT understands that minimizing frustrating experiences for users of a fundamental tool like email is essential to maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. I'd rather have them spend more to provide a (nearly) junk free inbox - even it means fewer new features in Outlook. I hope that MSFT can address this new surge of Junk bypassing its filters. Checking in to see if this is possible - Goal: To pull personal email addresses from F1 users that are stored in PeopleSoft and add them into the MS profile card in the email spot, then hide them from public view We want to have the ability to send manually curated news and automatic "news you may have missed" from the newsfeed via our SharePoint intranet to their personal email addresses Current state: Staff's personal email addresses are stored in PeopleSoft, and they have the ability to edit them We have processes that run each week comparing AD Attribute Information against PS Attribute Information and updates accordingly All staff have access to PeopleSoft and use their Microsoft login Staff are authenticated through Azure This group of staff have F1 licenses and tend to be seasonal workers; it's cost-prohibitive to upgrade their licenses Ideal state: The solution uses existing O365 or other corporate software, such as a Microsoft Delve The solution pulls staff's personal email address information from PeopleSoft, where it's currently stored and allows staff to opt in and out from there Alternatively, we use an MS application like Delve for staff to add their email address and opt in or out of corporate communications The solution provides the ability for the staff's personal email addressNOT to be displayedin the MS profile card found when hovering over a staff person's name190Views0likes4CommentsOutlook Inbox not updating
Hello, when using the Mail & Calender App on Win 10, everything works fine. But now Windows forces me to use the new Outlook App. When using Outlook my Inbox is not updating, it shows me 2 months old mails on top of the list. Same goes for using the web version outlook.com. My inbox is not updating even though I get new mails everyday. I have to search new mails by using the search bar. I tried to do some research and found blog and forum posts about deleting the Outlook cache. I tried it, I could't find the folder so I went and deinstalled Outlook and installed the old Mail App. Everything worked fine for 2 days. I received new mails like I should. But then again I got forced to move to the new Outlook App. Now it shows me my 2 months old Mails again. What confuses me is why the web version is not working correctly too? My local cache files shouldn't have any influence on the web version. Anybody here that can help me? Thanks in advance.Solved164KViews1like11CommentsEmail not being delivered to M365 and being forwarded back on-prem
Hi All Hopefully I can explain the issue given it is a bit puzzling and a complex setup. We have 2 environments/tenants. contosedev.com for dev work and contoso.com for production. We have an on-prem Exchange 2019 infrastructure for contosodev.com and a on-prem Exchange 2016 infrastructure for contoso.com. Between the on-prem environment we have an Exchange 2019 edge server (not AD Sync'd) for each environment (dev and production) that takes email from on-prem and sends to M365. The on-prem Exchange server has a send connector that routes email destined for contosodev.mail.onmicrosoft.com (dev) or contoso.mail.onmicrosoft.com (production) via these edge servers. The edge servers have a receive connector to take this email and a send connector to then send on to M365. The connectors use certificate validation in each case. The M365 tenants have an inbound connector to receive this email also with certificate validation. All connectors are setup the same apart from the obvious difference in domains. The tenants are authoritative for their respective domains. For dev contosodev.com & contosodev.mail.onmicrosoft.com (and also the default contosodev.onmicrosoft.com). For production contoso.com & contoso.mail.onmicrosoft.com (and also the default contoso.onmicrosoft.com). The tenants have outbound connectors to route all email via on-premise Exchange servers. So any email in M365 for say contosodev.com (dev) and contoso.com (production) get routed to the outbound connector and hence on-prem Exchange where they can either be delivered locally or if it an external address they are routed out via our gateway infrastructure. Each tenant has a test mailbox (shared). The mailbox has been migrated from the on-prem infrastructure to M365. Each has email addresses of contosodev.mail.onmicrosoft.com & contosodev.com for the dev environment and contoso.mail.onmicrosoft.com & contoso.com for production. Now the puzzling bit. In the dev environment, if I send an email from an on-prem mailbox to email address removed for privacy reasons, Exchange on-prem sees this as a remote mailbox and sends the email via the edge servers. It arrives in M365, sees it has a mail.onmicrosoft.com address and is delivered successfully to the test mailbox. In the production environment, If I send an email from an on-prem mailbox to email address removed for privacy reasons, Exchange on-prem sees this as a remote mailbox and sends the email via the edge servers. It arrives in M365, sees it has a mail.onmicrosoft.com address, but instead of delivering it to the mailbox, it then routes it back to on-prem using the contoso.com address, which then causes a mail loop that eventually fails. The message trace seems to indicate the email is being forwarded, however there are no forward rules or inbox rules. I've even tried another completely blank mailbox that I migrated to M365 with the same result. Now I've been over the config of both environments, looked at various articles in regards to attribution, but cannot see any difference between what I've setup in the dev environments vs the production one. I just can't work out why, when the mailbox obviously exists in M365 with all the correct email addresses, it just doesn't get delivered. M365 seems to ignore that and decide to send it out via the outbound connector. The other weird part is if I disable that outbound connector in M365, the email is delivered to the mailbox correctly! Anyway, lengthy I know and hopefully have explained the infrastructure, so if anyone has any ideas where I might check next it would be greatly appreciated. I just bought a MacBook Air M1. I installed office 360 because I use mail merge for my clients. I tried to use my database by merging mail but the first client does appear, if I continue merging, they appear blank or Word simply keeps thinking it takes 40 minutes to change the item. Copy the raw database to a new file and do mail merge and it worked, but it slowed down too much. is there any patch? or why is that problem? I am currently working on the integration of the Message Trace APIand wanted to clarify some details regarding the rate limit. The REST API I am currently using for O365 Message Trace for my integration is:https://reports.office365.com/ecp/reportingwebservice/reporting.svc/MessageTrace[?ODATAoptions] As mentioned previously, The rate limits for the O365 Message Trace API are generally aligned with the Microsoft Graph API limits: Per-Minute Limit: Up to 60 requests per minute However, during testing the integration, I've noticed that my data is not being ingested within that specified timeframe and not aligning to the specified rate limit. Can someone please confirm if there are any additional limitations or conditions that might cause the rate limit to vary? Are there any other factors, such as throttling or specific request patterns, that could affect the rate limit during data ingestion? Your guidance on this would be greatly appreciated as it would help me optimize the integration process.351Views0likes2CommentsQuestion - Deleted Outlook Profile \ Deleted OST File Recovery Location
