Copy and Paste
13 TopicsRestrict all type of content copy and paste from clipboard/windows 10 in to Microsoft team desktop
we have already achieved blocking of copying data/chat/file outside MS team (E.g. users cannot copy a chat from MS team in to a word file on local windows 10 laptop/desktop). But our requirement is to block copy, cut and paste of any data/content in to MS teams from local windows 10 (we dont want selective block by DLP rules and defined keywords e.g. PCI DSS etc.). Example user should not be able to copy any data from a word file in local machine or any copied content in clipboard and paste it in to MS team. Please support how we can achieve this, we dont want DLP based data restriction of pasting data in MS teams.Restriction should be a blanket one. Client does not need keyword specific documents/content like credit cards, company name etc to blocked from pasting in MS teams. We want complete block of copy paste and cut functionality for all content whether it is sensitive or non-sensitive. Please note our above issue is for windows 10 devices laptop and desktop. Further we have achieved blocking of files sharing as well and restrict copying of data/files outside MS team via session policy and file sharing blocks. Thanks in advance for your support. Your earliest reply will be appreciated as it is an urgent requirement of compliance.18KViews1like3CommentsNeed an easy way to collect screen shots from a group of users through copy and paste not attach
We are running an alpha UAT with a group of internal users. The UAT participants are given ~20 test cases and each test case requires them to find an answer to a question in the online product (that is in alpha release) and then answer a few questions about the experience and take a screen shot to show they got the correct answer. We are thinking of using Microsoft Forms to collect information about each test case which seems easy and provides a way to export all participant data for all test cases into an excel which is great. But the challenge we are facing is collecting a screenshot for each test case from the users and associating it with the data collected for each test case. We know Forms allows the ability to upload a file but these are busy business users and asking them to take a screenshot, save it and upload it is too much to expect and too timely. Also many users speak English but second language so we need simple instructions. So we are thinking of collecting the answers to the questions via forms but collecting the screen shots another way. Ideally, we'd like to view all screenshots from all users for a particular test case together but with each identified by the user who submitted it. Then we can easily validate that the answers are correct plus see if the page layout displays correctly for each user's unique environment (OS, browser, screen resolution, and with each user's unique data. note: the product is only available via browsers and supported on pc/laptop not phones or tablets). Having all together makes this QA easier. Any thoughts on how to do this? One solution we've thought of: Have each user copy and paste their screenshots into an excel file that we send to them. The excel file would have a tab/worksheet labeled with each test case # and the user would copy the screenshot for a particular test case and paste into the corresponding numbered labeled tab/worksheet in the excel. And then at the end of the Microsoft Form they would upload the file so it is associated with their answers to the question that they answered via Forms. However this doesn't aggregate the screenshots per question and it is a bit cumbersome because the user has to juggle 3 things: have the Microsoft Form open with the test case instructions and questions to answer, then perform the test case and find the answer in the browser where they are logged into the product, and then take a screenshot that they copy into the excel file. A lot to juggle. Any idea to make this easier using Teams? We have Microsoft Office 365. Or open to using a completely different tool for UATs. Our next phase will be to conduct the UAT with external users who won't have access to our Office 365 environment so need to solve the problem for them as well. Open to 2 different solutions for internal vs external but 1 solution would be ideal.2.4KViews0likes3CommentsCopy formatted text and paste as plain text
Huge need: Using a Mac: I am constantly needing to copy formatted text from another source (like Jira) and paste it into a Teams chat as plain text and am astounded that this cannot be done in Teams. It is a productivity killer to have to constantly paste single lines into the browser address bar or a search field and then select and copy again in order to paste as plain text into a chat. Worse is when the content is several lines and I have to open a plain text editor, paste, select, copy, switch to Teams, and paste. MS of all companies should be able to do this in Teams.Solved109KViews5likes10CommentsWord Copy and Paste Protection

I am using MS Access 2016 and when I copy and paste a Query or Report that I have created in my database, the new query or report does not show in the navigation pane. What can I do to make then pasted items appear. For example, I have a Report named 2022 Money won and copied and pasted it to 2023 Money Won. I cannot see the 2023 Money Won report or query. Hi We have some multi-line text strings that regularly need to be copied out of a channel in Teams. We have found that when the text is copied, the line endings copy with a line-feed, rather than the standard Windows carriage return/line-feed - which causes some software not to display it properly. Is there any way around this so that multi-line text copies with CR/LF line endings please? Thanks!5.3KViews3likes2CommentsOffice 365 Update Changed the way Copy and Paste (clipboard) Works
I seem to be the only one that has this issue; however, everyone in our office (with the same version update) seems to have it as well. Basically, the clipboard no longer seems to work the same way. It used to save the copied information, even after the selected range is no longer selected -- but now, it does not. It is taking significantly more time to move data between spreadsheets. Is anyone else experiencing this, or is this perhaps an error on our offices' Office update?13KViews2likes6CommentsSet Default to Copy and Paste Visible Cells Only
Hello, Does anyone know if we can set the Copy and Paste Function to default into copying and pasting only the visible cells? I'm using Excel 2016 in Windows 10. I've been doing the Alt + ; and then copying it way but when copying, I never want the hidden cells anyway. So I'm wondering if this could be set as default to avoid the extra step. Thanks!43KViews0likes3CommentsPermissions in Sharepoint
I have a specific Usecase : A Site has been created wherein Documents will be uploaded (Word, PPT, PDF, Excel). These will be shared outside of my organisation as read only access. This part is OK. The part which i am not able to figure out, these read only documents should not allow the reader copy anything from these documents. How do i manage that in Sharepoint?1.2KViews0likes2Comments
