Copilot in Word
53 TopicsI want to turn off or hide the draft with copilot dingbat that follows my cursor around in MS Word.
I have seen a few articles on this website, and I know it's not possible but I'm going to ask anyway. For reference this is what I'm referring to: It's more I find the little thing following me around on my screen to be annoying and distracting, I've managed to hide or disable anything related to copilot on my system except this little dingbat. When a new document is open you get a little message that says "Select the icon or press Alt + i to draft with copilot" It would be nice if I could hide that as well, yes copilot is a *feature*, and I don't care about it. I also want to hide the paste with copilot and just used the local paste options that were built into previous versions of word. I suspect that there is a copilot dingbat that is stored somewhere on my system, possibly in a font, and as I have already made a few detrimental modifications to my operating system registry, I'm not wary of messing up my computer any more than it could be. The only saving grace I have at the moment is there is an issue with my account, so any accidental triggering of the feature causes it to crap out. (So long as I don't accidentally press the 'fix account" button) I know that if it was easy to turn off there would be a button for it, I know Microsoft probably wants us to use this feature because it means more data for them to collect, an I'm disappointed in the loss of user agency that's resulted from this rollout, and there's a spike in animosity towards AI in general.Solved31KViews20likes35CommentsMicrosoft copilot stops while giving a response.
Why is this happening? Is there a solution for this? It just stops while giving response. And it has happened several times. And you can't even give prompt to continue from there. You should restart it. Does anyone have a solution for this? and I have restarted and reinstalled it 1000 times.8.4KViews1like15CommentsCopilot not creating new documents
Hi I'm hoping someone can help. My company has just invested in Copilot for my team on my request and some of the functions it purports to have don't seem to work. When I ask it to create new word documents from a template, it tells me it is generating the documents but never actually does. Similarly, when I ask it to copy information from a word document and paste it into a spreadsheet, it tells me it has done it but hasn't. Has anyone else experienced this or know a fix for it? If it can't actually do this and create one document based on another document then its usefulness to me is vastly reduced. Thanks4.9KViews2likes3CommentsDownload links not working
I spent hours creating a training guide on copilot but when it finished the document, the download link did not work. I have tried checking updates, verifying permissions, clearing cache and restarting laptop. Has copilot lost all my work / my document?4.7KViews0likes9CommentsHow can I permanently remove the irritating copilot icon from my word document
How do I get rid of this from the documents I create? I have copilot switched off in preferences and I have it deleted from my menu bar and yet, I just can't get rid of this icon/text? How do I just get a normal word document? I noticed that my subscription sneakily went up to £105 per year from £80 per year and the only way to revert back to my old subscription was to cancel it. So, I don't have copilot switched on, nor am I or will I pay for it but the copilot prompt just won't disappear. Any ideas would be welcome... thanks4.5KViews0likes4Comments
