Hi All, There is a group of several people added to a shared mailbox named "Technical group 5" with the following permissions: Full Access Send as Send on behalf Of course, these people can send messages as the shared mailbox email address and in this case their personal email addresses are hidden for the recipients. QUESTION: Is it possible to hide their personal information when participating in the Microsoft Teams meetings the same way as for exchanging email messages described upper? So, as requested, in a Teams meeting all participants see "Technical group 5" but NOT the real member of this group, currently taking part in this event. ------------------------------------------------- I tried 2 ways: --- Creating a Teams meeting from a shared mailbox like this way - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/create-a-teams-meeting-from-a-shared-mailbox/491628f5-9895-42e2-96bd-87947f574a74 --- Adding a shared mailbox as a participant of the Microsoft Teams meeting But unfortunately, in both cases I couldn't "hide" the real members of "Technical group 5", all the meeting's participants see the real person, not the requested shared mailbox name ("Technical group 5") Please share your opinion or experience in this area. Hi Much like in slack where you can type `#other_channel` and then clicking on that would take you there, I'd like to similarly be able to reference other channels in messages. Why - because I can tell people where to post things or where to look for things more easily. Thanks!8KViews0likes4CommentsTeam Android Mobile app syncing issue
I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue affecting a significant portion of our fleet of Android devices. Approximately 10-20 percent of our devices are experiencing a perplexing problem with the Teams application, wherein certain teams fail to sync and update properly. To date the only fix is for the user to log into a web browser version of teams and look at the teams channel it then updates on the tablet. The symptoms of this issue are as follows: despite new posts being made in a channel, affected devices display outdated information and fail to reflect the latest updates. Consequently, users are unable to access crucial information in a timely manner, significantly impeding workflow and collaboration efforts. To date, we have exhausted various troubleshooting measures, all of which have proven ineffective in resolving the issue. These include: Clearing cache and temporary files: This action results in channels appearing blank, devoid of any data, including both old and new posts. Logging out and then back in: Despite attempting to re-authenticate, the problem persists. Deleting the Teams application from the device: Reinstalling the application has not yielded any improvements. Interestingly, we have observed that if a user is tagged in a post, the content becomes accessible through the activity tab of Teams. However, this workaround is not a sustainable solution for our operational needs. Given the severity of this issue and its adverse impact on our productivity, we urgently require your assistance in identifying and rectifying the root cause from the administrative side. Any insights or guidance you can provide to resolve this matter expediently would be greatly appreciated.499Views0likes2CommentsProgram Management
Hope all's well. I need help for setting up not a project, but a program in Microsoft Teams. I have setup a Team for each of the projects. Each Team/project has standard channels for all projects based on the Project Management framework. We I created a Team for the Program. Now, how do I consolidate certain files and folders from each Team belonging to the projects up to the Program Team?581Views0likes1Commentteam link opens a channel window with no obvious navigation to the whole team
I am sharing a Team Site with my student through a link in the syllabus. I am using the "Get Link to Team" to generate the link. However when the students click on the link and ask to have it open in the Teams client it opens a window with the General Channel Posts with no other access or menus to the rest of the team channels, tabs, etc. IMO this should open the client to the Team view.20Views0likes0CommentsOngoing agenda and action items for Meetings
I like the Agenda and Action items built into Teams but dislike that each meeting is an island (now in Loop). What are some best practices on how to have continuity across a set of meetings, whether using those widgets or not? Do you just do it external to Teams? Sometimes these meetings are in a series but often get moved. Currently we create the meetings just in Outlook, not in a Channel. I have heard mixed success of it being in a channel.210Views3likes2CommentsOverlapping Teams App Setup Policies?
I have a GCC tenant, so not yet using App Centric Management :-( We've had some mixed results with 'overlapping' App Setup Policies in Teams, specifically in the case of users having other App Permission Policies assigned to them **in addition to** a specific App Permission + App Setup Policy 'pair' assignment that pushes/pins the app. Here's the scenario --- seems like it could be a common one: Teams App A - with App Permission Policy A - is assigned to Group A Teams App B - with App Permission Policy B - is assigned to Group B Teams App C - with App Permission Policy C - is assigned to Group C [New] Teams App D - with App Permission Policy D *and* App Setup Policy D to push/pin the app - is assigned to Group D, which includes some users already in Groups A,B,C QUESTION: Since the new App D Setup Policy specifically pins App D only, will this preclude the users who are also in Groups A,B,C from self-pinning & using Apps A,B,C they were originally given permission to? As mentioned, we've had some mixed results - so curious if anyone else has a similar scenario, or a good reference. We've done lots of searching - but most of the Teams app management seems to be pointing towards the App Centric Management which we don't have.42Views0likes1CommentExtracting Device and Participation Details in Microsoft Teams
Hi everyone, I am working on a project for my organization to extract detailed information about Teams calls. Specifically, I need to gather data on the devices used by participants, as well as their join and leave times for each Teams meeting. This includes both participants and organizers. My current approach involves: 1. Using Microsoft Graph API to access call and participant data. 2. Fetching relevant details such as device type, join time, and leave time. - What are the best practices for extracting and managing this data? - Are there any specific API endpoints or techniques you recommend for efficiently retrieving this information? - How can I ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data collected? - Are there any tools or libraries that can simplify this process? Looking forward to your insights and experiences! Thanks in advance for your help!62Views1like2CommentsCreate single temporary voicemail for all Teams Voice users
