Best Practice
11 TopicsPeople Science - resources and researches on a few different topics for exec presentation
Hi, I have a client and a leadership team that is bought-in to engagement, data-driven, and ambitious to do more. Tech industry, gone from start-up to 500 employees so starting to mature. They have been doing their own insights but have now sought after external consultant to provide more external viewpoints for inspiration and additional insights. Here are some topics that came up in the scoping session with HR Engagement trends in general, how are the scores shifting (slightly downwards?) and why? I have the “modern approach to measuring engagement” mentioning the revamp of the people success elements post-COVID so I can use some snippets from that. But does someone have a slide summarising it nicely rather than in text/article? Any other trends in the last year? The client has a focus on being great at hybrid working so would be good to see if anyone has done work with companies and the link between engagement and hybrid The client is still privately owned, small-ish (500 people) and one current challenge is their mixed comms about exit plan - when it could happen as most employees have equity. Interestingly very low employee attrition, although scores are declining (still high scores however). Possibly waiting for payout? If there are some materials on smaller companies who are privately owned where employees have equity and how to deal with comms in that environment Any specific trends on tech companies They use top 10th percentile benchmark, but since scores are declining, there are some gaps that are quite big. If someone has experience of “downgrading” to a lower benchmark, e.g. global mean, and how to position that. They don’t want to look like they’re dodging ambitions. I said a way to do it could maybe to include both – baseline and ambition. Any case studies/best practice on actions that worked on Prospects, Comms, Confidence in Sen. Leadership Much appreciated. I am seeking guidance and insights regarding cloud migration and adoption strategies from a senior Enterprise Architect or Solutions Architect at a high-level. An existing business application is running in the on-premises Data Centre. Which major considerations and approaches would you take if you migrated the application to the public cloud (Azure)? How can we ensure it is well-architected and meets business requirements? Any assistance or recommendations you could provide would be immensely appreciated.2.1KViews0likes6CommentsBest practice for enabling policies in Production
Hi, we have around 30 keywords that were used in auto labelling policies to perform simulation on MS teams, Exchange, Sharepoint and One drive. There is enormous amount of data that is visible and tagged against those keywords in Content explorer. What is the best practice to review all this content to avoid false positives, we cant go each n every document or email to see how keywords r applied. Neither we nor client can review thousands of files to identify false positives n fine tune, was wondering how others are over coming this issue? thanks in advance. Hello, My name is Peter and I am an accountant by trade but am keen on helping our organization transition to data-driven decisions. I am trying to set up a database for historical and forecasted oil and gas pricing. I want to try to use best practices as much as I can however I am having troubles identifying what that would be in this case. My issue All the records in dimension tables are used between the 2 fact tables (historic and pricing), however there are instances where 1 or more records in a dimension table will not appear in one of the fact tables. For example, only 7 of the 8 benchmark prices are in the forecasted table, only 2 of the 4 engineers are tracked in the historic fact table, etc. I am new to database modeling so forgive me if I am misunderstanding but I think a model with these characteristics would not be best practice because I am going to have records in my dimension tables that are not used in the fact tables. Question Does anyone have any recommendations or guidance for how to best structure this model (should I have a separate model for forecasted and historic pricing?) Ultimately I would like to be able to put this model into something like PowerBI and have the my dimension tables as filters that propagate to the other filters (i.e. if user selects Currency = USD, then only Any help/guidance to point me in the right direction would be much appreciated, thank you! Current Model Overview (no relationship to fact tables yet) More insights into the model (if useful) There are 2 types of oil and gas prices Oil prices Gas Prices Each price has multiple benchmarks (WTI, WCS, Brent, etc.) There are 4 different third party Engineers that provide these benchmark prices (1, 2, 3, 4) All 4 Engineers provider forecasted pricing but only on 7 of the 8 benchmarks Only Engineer 2 and 3 provide Historical Pricing Engineer 2 provides pricing on 7 of 8 benchmarks Engineer 3 provides prices on 8 of the 8 benchmarks Benchmark prices can be reported in CAD or USD For Forecasted Pricing, each Engineer reports the same 4 benchmarks in CAD and 3 in USD) For Historical pricing Engineer 2 supplies pricing for all their benchmarks in CAD while Engineer 3 provides pricing for 2 of their benchmarks in USD Ultimately the relationship structure looks like this HISTORICAL PRICING Price Type: Oil, NGL, Condensate Benchmark 1 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 CAD Benchmark 2 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 USD Benchmark 3 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 CAD Benchmark 4 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 CAD Benchmark 8 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 USD Price Type: Gas Benchmark 5 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 CAD Benchmark 6 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 USD Benchmark 7 Engineer 2 CAD Engineer 3 CAD FORECASTED PRICING Price Type: Oil, NGL, Condensate Benchmark 1 Engineer 1-4: CAD Benchmark 2 Engineer 1-4: USD Benchmark 3 Engineer 1-4: CAD Benchmark 4 Engineer 1-4: CAD Price Type: Gas Benchmark 5 Engineer 1-4: CAD Benchmark 6 Engineer 1-4: USD Benchmark 7 Engineer 1-4: CAD728Views0likes0CommentsBreakout Troubleshooting
Hi everyone - hoping you're well. I have issues when organising events where there are presenters (who have cameras enabled) and participants (cameras and mics disabled). Once presenters finish - we want them to join breakout rooms to have discussions. The issue is - the cameras do not turn on in the breakout rooms. I enable them from the options before sending people into breakouts - their mics turn on but no cameras. Has anyone found a solution to this please?4.1KViews2likes5CommentsEnriching stream data by reference data in stream analytics task
I have a task of streaming client actions. I need to add some fields from the client reference. Clients are stored in Synapse. I see that reference data is adding via file or Azur SQL in the streaming task. What's the best way to do it, via a file or a database? How do I create / update a file / table? Using the Data Factory on the trigger to insert a new client into the Synapse?685Views0likes0CommentsSending Photos as Status/Updates
Hi Members, would like to inquire any best practice for this concern - when a construction team in our organization is working on a specific house, at the end of the day the supervisor is sending pictures/photos to a Team Channel as their accomplishments or status of work. The problem is, as constructions take several days, monitoring of accomplishments becomes tedious for the management. Is there any better approach for this instead of message thread? Thank you in advance.1.1KViews0likes1CommentTeams and Sharepoint Architecture and practices
Hi all, My organization is at the beginning of developing our SP online-based intranet and we want to incorporate and use Teams as a primary way of driving projects and possibly creating long term Team sites for our departments. Before we go too far, we want to make sure that we have an appropriate architecture and possible "workflows" (not Workflow) to ensure that documents are available and record management is as easy as possible. We have identified multiple ways that we can see published pages making available major documents (perhaps an approved policies) developed by a group using a Team site. For instance, do you link from the published site to the teams doc? Do you migrate the final products or even libraries to an intermediate collaboration site? Do you move the products or even the libraries to the site with published pages? Does anyone know of a "best practices" to support Teams integrated SP search, metadata consistency, indexing, records management and such? I have read that Teams flattens the architecture and I see why. But I also see difficulties with each option. So any experience, suggestions or resources that are available would be helpful.5.7KViews1like1CommentRecommendations and Best Practices When Deploying SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups in Microsoft Azure (IaaS)
