Make sure that your device supports Windows Hello (fingerprint and facial recognition). Sometimes, hardware compatibility issues arise after an update.
The biometrics sensor on your PC will not work if it is dirty, or if your finger isn’t clean. Please clean your finger and the sensor.
Making sure your system is fully updated. Sometimes, newer updates include fixes for issues related to biometrics. Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
Certain third-party security or tuning software may interfere with biometric devices. Try disabling or uninstalling such software to see if it resolves the issue.
1. Make sure your fingerprint reader or camera hardware is not damaged and is properly connected to your computer.
If it is an external device, try to re-plug it and check if it is working properly.
2. Update the driver program:
Open “Device Manager”, locate the biometric device (e.g. fingerprint reader or webcam), check if there is a yellow warning flag, if so, right-click and select “Update Driver”.
3. Run Windows Update:
Make sure your Windows 11 Insider version is up to date. Sometimes system updates fix hardware compatibility issues.
4. Reset biometric data:
Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options, scroll down to the Biometrics section. Try deleting and resetting your fingerprint or facial data.
5. Disable and re-enable biometrics:
In Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options, turn off biometric sign-in, then restart your computer and turn it on again.
