Windows 11 Timer Resolution change broke my Driver

Copper Contributor

Hey guys

in windows 11 for some reason devs decided to change how Timer resolution was handled

it was perfectly fine already but they decided to anyway

i use a Driver for my Tablet that has plugins for Interpolating filters but i cant use them in windows 11 because it becomes horrifically laggy

like moving your mouse at 10fps

the only way to fix it is to use a odd frequency.

This enabled the fallback timer for the driver and allows me to use it but at the cost of almost 30% cpu usage

yes i did ask the devs of OTD about this and they said its not the program but how windows 11 handles it now

Spoke to support and they said to send in a feature request for it to be changed back

but idfk how to go about doing that 😭

im now rather forced to delete all my files and return to win 10

or

try and possibly fix it myself 😭

thought id come here for thoughts and suggestions
