Two users appear at login and can't fix it!!
Hi there
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with Windows 11.
When the login screen appears, I get two accounts appearing as available.
I have tried multiple methods to delete the "John" account, including the steps mentioned here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-or-remove-accounts-on-your-pc-104dc19f-6430-4b49-6a2b-e4dbd1dcdf32
But to no avail!
Please can you tell me how to get rid of this account - it's driving me crazy!
Thank you!
Well nobody has replied, but I have discovered what the problem was, so I am posting the solution here in case it's of use to anyone else...
Basically it was ESET INTERNET SECURITY's Anti-theft settings. If you're an ESET user you need to temporarily disable the anti-theft option, in particular the phantom e-mail account, before trying to delete a user from your system in W11.
Otherwise it will probably just keep reappearing after you restart.
Hope that's of use to someone!
