Reason for being blocked playing Felted: Texas Holdem Poker? IP or Location?

I am learning Texas Hold'em and the Google Play game Felted: Texas Holdem Poker is really good.

I can play without any problems but should I try to access the bank (on the software website) or try to join the group play the software cannot connect.

I've worked with support and they said try your phone which I did and same results. 

How would you find out what protocol is being blocked to find out the reason. One could be I am in Florida where online real poker is banned but this is play.

Is there a good free VPN that I could try to test? If it worked I would gladly buy a paid VPN
