How do I keep opened apps from creating a new icon on the right hand side when open

Hello,

When I open an app, instead of giving me the line under the icon pinned to the taskbar, it creates a new icon on the right of the pinned icons.

This is because the application's shortcut does not match the path of the actual running program. Solution:

Unfix the old icon: right-click the old icon on the taskbar and select Unfix from Taskbar.
Re-fix the correct icon: After opening the app, right-click on the newly appeared icon and select Fix to Taskbar.
Test if it works: Close the app and open it again to see if the new icon is still created.
If the problem persists, you may need to check the application's installation path to ensure that the shortcut points to the correct .exe file.

Right click on the app and unpin it from task bar.

Maybe you should try to unpin the first outlook icon from taskbar and then pin the opened one.

This is my biggest problem with windows 11 so far, the windows 11 taskbar bites IMHO.
