How do I find my windows 11 product key?
I recently needed to find my Windows 11 product key because I wanted to reinstall the system, but I didn't know where to find Windows 11 product key. I've seen some tutorials before, but the operation was a bit complicated and I didn't know the specific steps. Does anyone have any simple methods or tools that can help me quickly find the Windows 11 product key? If anyone has encountered a similar problem, please share your experience, thank you!
I have encountered a similar situation before. I wanted to reinstall Windows 11, but I couldn't find the product key.
I tried several complicated tutorials, and finally found Product Key Finder to be the simplest tool. It can find the key in one step and the operation is also very smooth.
If you don't want to go through complicated steps, I recommend this tool, it is quite useful.

As some people in the replies have mentioned, you can use the command prompt method, but you can also use the command "slmgr.vbs /dlv." This command displays the Activation ID, although it shows only a partial product key. The Activation ID can be useful, along with the Installation ID, which can be used to contact Microsoft through their phone center.
To do this, press WIN+R, type "slui 4," then select your country from the list and call one of the displayed numbers, Toll and Toll-free. When you call, the automated representative will prompt you to either enter the Installation ID using the number pad or say it out loud. After you complete that step, click "Next" and enter the Confirmation ID in the provided boxes. Finally, you can proceed by clicking "Activate Windows" with the information you've received. I hope this helps!

Another simple method to find your Windows 11 product key is through the Windows Registry:

I did this and found my backup key. I tried changing my current key to this one I found but it is still displaying the message that the key didn't work. (0xc0000022)

You can easily find your Windows product key by opening Command Prompt, typing wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey, and pressing Enter—it’ll show up instantly.
By the way, I found a great site offering affordable https://9xkey.com/index.php/product/windows-11-pro-retail-key/. I got one myself, and it worked perfectly!

In addition to the registry and BIOS, there is a other way to find the Windows 11 product key:
(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey

Let me analyze the disadvantages of using PowerShell to find Windows 11 product keys:
- If your Windows 11 is activated via a digital license, which is super common especially if you upgraded from an older version or bought it through the Microsoft Store, you might not see the product key at all. It just won't show up because your system is linked with your Microsoft account instead of having a visible key. Super frustrating when you’ve followed the steps and nothing pops up!
- If you're not familiar with command-line interfaces, this can be a bit daunting. Typing commands always comes with the risk of a typo. One wrong character, and you might not get the result you're looking for.
- There are instances where the product key just isn't stored on your system anymore (thanks to upgrades or re-installs). You can follow the steps to the letter, and still, you end up with nothing. Classic case of "just your luck".
If PowerShell is giving you headaches, consider other Windows 11 product key finder. These tools usually do a good job of digging around in your system to find that elusive key without the command line drama. Just be cautious and choose reputable software.

I know there are two ways to find Windows 11 product key without cmd.
Check through Microsoft account:
If your Windows 11 is activated through Microsoft account, log in to your Microsoft account official website, go to the "Device" page, and check the devices bound to the account and their activation status. Although the product key will not be displayed directly, you can confirm whether the system is activated to avoid activation problems after reinstalling.Check in system settings:
Open Settings, then go to Update & Security -> Activation. Although this method will not directly display the key, it will show your current activation status. If the system is activated through a digital license, you do not need to enter the key manually, just log in to the Microsoft account after reinstalling. - NicholasWuCopper Contributor
Checking the Windows 11 product key through the registry is also a common method, but you have to pay a little attention and be careful when operating. You can find the stored product key through the registry, but this method may not work in all cases, especially if your system is activated with a digital license.
The steps are roughly as follows:
- Press Windows + R, type regedit, and then press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Go to this path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
- Look for BackupProductKeyDefault in the right window, where your product key may be displayed.
However, sometimes the key found through the registry is not the key that is actually used to activate the system, especially if you are using a volume license or a digital license. So this method is a bit unreliable, but it can come in handy occasionally. If you are looking for a way to find Windows 11 product key, this is a method to try, but if you can't find it, don't worry, try another way!

The method of checking the product key through BIOS is relatively simple, but it depends on luck. Usually the product key is hidden in a system information or security page in the BIOS. You may need to flip through a few pages and look for options like "System Information" or "Security". Some computers will directly display the product key, but not all computers do so. If your computer supports it, this method is really convenient and you can find Windows 11 key without any Windows product key finder tools.
However, I have tried it several times myself, and sometimes I still can't find it after flipping through it, so it is not a 100% reliable method, but if you can find it, it saves a lot of trouble!
