Since the lastest release, if I double-click my Outlook mail icon in the system tray, it does not bring Outlook to focus. It simply makes the icon flash in the task bar. Also, the system tray icons ...

I had the same problem after recent Windows 11 upgrade to 22H2.
To fix the issue I used Office 365 "Quick Repair" option as described in the "2. REPAIR MICROSOFT OFFICE" chapter of the following article:

For anyone interested, I tried mlyubkin's suggestion (Quick Repair) and it does not fix the issue described in my original post. Outlook is still not brought to front when double-clicking the notification tray icon.
Over the weekend I also tried toggling on the preview version of Outlook with the new interface etc. Same problem with that too.

Apologies if I misunderstood the issue. Double click on the system tray icon would open and bring Outlook to front only if Outlook was previously minimized to tray. If Outlook's already open, but is under other windows - the tray double click does nothing.

This is not true. It used to bring outlook to front before this bug was introduced. Currently, it is flashing the window. So definitely, there is code on double clicking system tray/taskbar icon. - frederick_hopeJun 14, 2023Brass ContributorNo worries - I have raised the issue in the Outlook Feedback Hub to hopefully get some more visibility. If anyone else would like to do the same, you can do in Outlook via 'Help' > 'Feedback' > 'I don't like something'. Feel free to link them to this thread as it proves it's not an isolated problem and that many others are affected.
- Radix_SortJun 16, 2023Copper Contributorsame issue. strange it flashes in background but does dare to come in the front. we need to to hookup "open outcook" to DoubleClick.
