Cannot login: PIN isn’t available

Copper Contributor

After multiple blue screens with different stop codes and restarts, I cannot get into my laptop.

Login is showing “Something happened and your PIN is not available. Click to set up your PIN again.” Clicking “Set up my PIN” does nothing. Pop up: explorer.exe - System error

The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.

I tried to reser from advanced settings but it will not reset. Is there anything I can do to get into my laptop?

Last resort would be to reinstall Windows. You can do this through the Windows installation media, but note that this will erase your files unless you choose to keep them during the installation process.
Safe Mode can help you bypass the login screen and access your laptop:

1.Restart your laptop.
2.Press F8 repeatedly during the boot process.
3.Select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
4.Press Enter to start your laptop in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, you can try to reset your PIN or disable the PIN requirement.
