Can't close ms paint in latest Win 11

New Contributor

Hello. I've recently moved to win 11as it was advised by MS company.

Here are some relevant strings reported by

systeminfo

command on my PC

OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
OS Version: 10.0.22621 N/A Build 22621

So what I've spotted on my PC is the strange behavior of ms paint in case I have more than one instance of it and when the moment arrives and I need to have all instances of ms paint closed the issue comes up. At that very point of time I usually reveal that the current instance of paint is the only one I have alive and the rest are completely unmanageable and are not clickable at all so no further interaction possible between the user (me) and those instances of paint. And this happens on a regular basis.

I recently had the same problem with MS Paint lasting around a week.

My solution is to open the MS Paint window that's not responding, and press Alt+F4.

The window finally closed and was no longer an issue for me.

Please reply if it does not work.

Start "APPS" then continue to "INSTALLED APPS" here you can search "PAINT".

Scroll down and start app "REPAIR".

I am sure this can help. It helped me more than twice after upgrade issues.

Thanks @Alti1981. Tried to follow your guidance and performed those steps. Above that I installed the recent update and everything seems to be ok now.
Hi @Alti1981. Just want to inform you that the issue still persists but anyway your answer should be treated as more appropriate :) Thanks
