Azure Blockchain Community Events
I'm planning to organize an Azure Blockchain event in the Salt Lake City area in late June / early July (before Inspire) following the very successful SQL/SharePoint Saturday model, and organized through the IAMCP Utah chapter. Trying to confirm the venue, at which point we'll build a simple event site and reach out to the community with a Call for Speakers and Call for Sponsors, for those who might be interested. We're thinking about 4 tracks: Azure IaaS/PaaS and Coco Framework, Identity, BAPPS, and Business topics (such as ICOs, marketing, community, etc). If you're based in the US mountain west and would like to get involved, or are interested in potentially speaking/sponsoring this event, please let me know.1.9KViews2likes1CommentRe: Azure Blockchain Community Events
We have a location, and need to decide on an event date -- but the call for speakers and sponsors will go out before the end of the month. If you're interested in participating in this free event, please reach out to me at cbuck@collabtalk.com1.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Office 365 US Government Resources
Brian, I hope you don't mind if I tag this thread with an invitation for Fed, State, and Local users to complete a survey, but it is relevant: My company is leading an independent research effort looking at Microsoft Cloud adoption within the US Public Sector, and we're asking Federal, State, and Local government employees, partners, and vendors who work with, manage, or are responsible for these tools and systems to complete a short, anonymous survey (4-6 minutes to complete) on the issues you experienced/are experiencing in moving to the cloud. All responses anonymous, no personal data captured or tracked. You can find the survey at bit.ly/PublicSectorCloud Thanks for the support! If you have any other questions about this research, please email me at cbuck@collabtalk.com2KViews1like0CommentsMicrosoft Cloud adoption within the Public Sector

Be sure to follow MVP Tracy Vander Schyff's 365 blog posts on Microsoft 365 at https://tracyvanderschyff.com/microsoft-365/ I'm taking her lead and doing something similar, but focusing on a handful of specific topics. Will be posting about my focus tonight...1.9KViews3likes2CommentsRe: Are there O365Groups Onboarding Resources available?
With Docs.com going away, and relevant links spread out across many different locations, I pulled together this Resource Guide for Office 365 Groups: http://buckleyplanet.com/2017/07/resource-guide-office-365-groups.html1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: SharePoint Virtual Summit

Chris, just saw the article in RCPmag and am surprised that there has not yet been any commentary on these survey results, as this is an important discussion. My first thought is that this is compelling evidence on the value of working through an MSP model rather than owning internally the Tier-1 support. As Scott Bekker points out in the article, the sample size is not large enough to provide insights into specific verticals or segments, and i would expect that any extended focus within O365 (an additional project management solution built onto the tenant, or an integrated Dynamics CRM solution) would add additional cost. Likewise, this study does not look into the complexity of managing hybrid environments -- an issue only skimmed in the latest Hybrid SharePoint research, which my company produced with Microsoft as the lead sponsor. Might be an interesting pivot for both companies to join forces, share some data.2.1KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Manage automatic creation of direct reports group
Agree with Ivan and others. Organizational opt-in makes more sense. However, i think I understand the drivers: Most managers will likely create a similar group on their own, and those who don't already have one (one of the conditions of this automation) are missing out on a key collaborative tool. I would venture that the majority of people to whom this would apply are not as engaged -- and Microsoft views this new feature as an engagement tool designed to nudge them in the right direction. Whether opt-in or opt-out, you still have the ability to rename or remove the direct reports group. What the automation can't do for us is add any dotted-line reports or supporting personnel who may not formally report to a manager, but who are part of the functional team. So regardless of the provisioning process, managers should review and modify, as needed.23KViews2likes1Comment2017 Predictions for SharePoint and Office 365
For those who may have missed it, we had a #CollabTalk tweetjam this past week with 50+ panelists via Twitter and almost 6.5 million impressions (we trended nationally at one point), with some great comments and discussion. I have captured a complete summary at https://storify.com/buckleyplanet/community-predictions-for-sharepoint-and-office-36/preview You can also find the fantastic stats, built by tyGraph, at https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiNTQyOGZhZmEtYmE4NS00YzYyLTg1NWItYWYxZjQ1Njg4N2ZmIiwidCI6IjdlNGNjMjBjLTdiOTgtNDU2MC04NzhkLTkwNjllN2M1NTdjYiIsImMiOjN9 which includes sentiment analysis of each of the seven questions asked during the one-hour event. What are your thoughts on the commentary? And what are your predictions for the new year?3KViews4likes10Comments#CollabTalk tweetjam on October 31st "The State of the SharePoint Community"

We have a panel of MVPs and experts, but it is open to everyone. The tweetjam will be Monday, October 31st at 9am PDT, and you can follow along on your Twitter app of choice using the #CollabTalk hashtag, or use http://twubs.com/collabtalk I'll have a blog post up in a couple days at www.buckleyplanet.com with a list of panelists and the questions we'll cover.
