Re: Excel crashing when copying large number of cells to another file
I was thinking of this for b) i'd have that sheet as the first one to save as CSV, so then the CSV when it's saved it's using just that sheet. Everytime i save as CSV, it always saves the first sheet for me. Regarding a) i tried but it also crashed, I'll try again. Hi everyone I have an Excel file that has a sheet with about 43k rows, and each have a VLOOKUP formula in Column B and INDEX formula in column C: When I try to copy column A, B and C up to last row 43,792 and paste it in a new Excel file as Values, Excel starts crashing and becomes unusable: I tried a few things to stop all other apps, restarted PC, it's the same. I am on a Win10 22H2, have a powerful CPU and 64 GB RAM, so I don't think it's the PC requirements. Any idea what I can do so that Excel can copy large amounts of data (that have formulas in them) and paste them in a New Excel file as Values, and not crash? PS: my current solution is to run a Python script on the Excel file, but I'd like to make Excel more usable instead of tweaking my Python script if the Excel file has different other columns too :/ Thank you!122Views0likes5CommentsExcel crashing when Copying many cells as Values to another Excel file
Hi everyone! I am working on a large Excel file that has a sheet with aprox 43k rows and column B with VLOOKUP formula, and column C with INDEX formulas: I am trying to copy the values from column A, B and C up to row 43,792 and paste them in a new separate file as Values only. But when i do this, it does not do it, it keeps crashing and looks to be "working" in background seeing the CPU super high: While it's crashing, I can see the PC slowing down and being un-responsive. I am on Win10 22H2, I got a powerful CPU and 64GB RAM, so I don't think the issue is the PC itself. If anyone has come across an issue like this, I'd appreciate the advice on what to do! PS: my only other solution on this is scriping it with Python to grab the data from the Excel file, but I don't wanna do this every single time I am using Excel files that are large and might have different columns. Is there any way on Win10 to change the Days to Keep files in the Office Document Cache to 1 year, or Infinite or Unlimited? At the moment the max is set to 30. I was wondering if there is a way with regedit to change this to unlimited? Thank you!212Views0likes2CommentsUpdate Excel Files path from old folder to new folder inside Pinned and search results
Hi everyone! I have been trying to find a solution to this but pulling my hair out here : } I had all my pinned XLSX files in Excel in this folder: /Documents/Info/Old Folder I have moved all the .XLSX files from there to a new Folder: /Documents/Info/New Folder As a result of this, of course, when searching for files OR clicking in the Pinned section, it is not finding the file. And also it finds both variations of the file from Old Folder and New Folder if i open the file in the New Folder. Is there any way to update my Pinned saved files' Default Folder from "Old Folder" to "New Folder"? Basically to say for all these XLSX files this is the "New Folder" in the path. Thank you!Solved675Views0likes7Comments
