Change Cache Settings Days to infinite or unlimited for Excel files
Is there any way on Win10 to change the Days to Keep files in the Office Document Cache to 1 year, or Infinite or Unlimited?
At the moment the max is set to 30.
I was wondering if there is a way with regedit to change this to unlimited?
Thank you!

The "Days to keep files in the Office Document Cache" setting in Office (visible through the Office Upload Center in older versions of Microsoft Office or through the newer Microsoft 365 settings for syncing files) is limited to a maximum of 30 days. This means that by default, files in the Office Document Cache will automatically be removed after 30 days if they haven't been accessed.
There is no registry hack that allows extending the cache retention period beyond 30 days…so far I know 🙂.
….but you can suggest this feature to Microsoft! Microsoft actively encourages users to provide feedback and suggestions, and there are a few ways to do this:
With Microsoft Feedback Hub (Windows 10 & 11)
Press Win + F on your keyboard, or search for Feedback Hub in the Start menu.
Click Report a problem or Suggest a feature.
Choose the category (like Office or OneDrive/SharePoint) that your suggestion relates to.
Or Use the Feedback Tool in Office Apps
Open any Office app (e.g., Excel).
Go to File > Feedback > Send a Suggestion.
Describe your suggestion, such as wanting an option to extend the Office Document Cache beyond 30 days, and why it would be helpful.
This sends your feedback directly to the Microsoft product team.
