Expected More from Windows 11
I initially thought upgrading to a new laptop with the latest version of Windows would be beneficial, but I am now experiencing some drawbacks. On Windows 10, I typically edit Gcode files for my 3D printer using WordPad, save them, and then directly load them into my 3D printer. However, after switching to Windows 11, whenever I try to save an edited file, it automatically changes the file name to a text file, rendering it unrecognizable by my 3D printer. Furthermore, on Windows 10, I could easily set Gcode files to open in WordPad. However, on Windows 11, WordPad is not showing up in the 'Open With' options. Even though I manually locate and open WordPad, the system doesn't recognize WordPad for the 'Open With' function. Despite my best efforts to locate WordPad, I pinned it to the Start menu, but unfortunately, it fails to appear when I access the Start menu. This seems odd for a supposedly 'advanced' Windows 11 system. Despite pinning it to the Start menu, taskbar, and creating a desktop shortcut, WordPad remains elusive. Additionally, the system persists in saving Gcode files in an undesired format. If Windows 11 is indeed an improvement, I would greatly appreciate assistance from an expert in restoring my confidence in the operating system.182Views0likes0CommentsStruggling to Sign Back In with Your Local Account? Get Assistance Here!
Greetings, I am seeking assistance with a situation that has arisen since my last post. As a Windows user running version 10.0.22621 of Windows 11, I usually log in to my computer using a Local Account. However, during the recent holiday season, my nephew accessed my computer and inadvertently logged me in under his account. Consequently, I would like to revert to signing in with my original Local Account. At present, although I seemingly sign in with my Local Account name, it appears that I am actually logged in under my nephew's Microsoft account "Billy B." I typically log in using the Local Account name "William." While I still see "William" on the Windows start screen, the underlying sign-in account is indeed "Billy B." This turn of events has left me feeling perplexed. I have attached some screen captures for better illustration. Upon navigating to the accounts section, I notice that I am signed in under the name "Billy B." Within the "Email and Accounts" area, both our email addresses are visible, with mine listed at the bottom. Notably, there is a "Remove" option next to my email address, indicating that I can dissociate it from the device. Regrettably, this option is unavailable for my nephew's account, likely due to our current login situation. In conclusion, I kindly seek guidance on removing my nephew's account entirely from the computer and reverting back to signing in with my original Local Account, "William." Thank you for your assistance, and I am ready to provide further details as needed. The photo illustrates my point clearly. The 'cinematic film border' is only applied to icons in landscape orientation, not to those in portrait orientation. I wonder why Windows doesn't add the border around the outside of portrait icons or simply not display it at all, even for landscape icons. Although I primarily use VLC media player, I believe this issue is related to Windows/File Explorer. It may be a legacy feature from the past that hasn't been addressed yet. I'm interested to know if others have noticed the same behavior. It's not a critical issue, just something that piqued my curiosity.143Views0likes1CommentnCopilot disrupts my desktop icon arrangement

I am transferring MR backup images from an NVMe drive to an external SSD connected via USB. I am curious about the sudden decrease in copying speed that occurs at a certain stage of the multiple image copying process. Understanding the root cause of this issue may enable me to address it. I have observed this speed drop during recent backups from internal to external storage.207Views0likes2CommentsSure, here is a re-written title/nexec in a batch file:```bat@echo offtitle My Batch Fileecho Hello,

Hello, I'm experiencing an unusual display issue where, upon clicking or hovering over the "show desktops" button in the taskbar, the background displays the icon of a PNG file type, as shown in the screenshot below. Normally, PNGs are associated with XnView, but I'm uncertain if this is the cause of the problem. This peculiar issue has persisted for as long as I can remember, despite my computer being relatively new (around 6 months old) and running Windows 11. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance!247Views0likes0Comments
