Teams Personal app not visible on mobile clients

Copper Contributor

I have created and published my teams app which contains bot, tabs and messaging extension. My app is visible on browsers and every desktop app but it is not visible on any of the mobile clients.

I referred to this documentation in which it is mentioned that, it may upto 24 hrs to show app on mobile clients but in my case it has been over 4 days but still it is not visible.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/tabs/design/tabs-mobile

I have also noticed that there are many such apps which is installed and visible on browsers and desktop clients but not on mobile clients. So please do let me know if there's any criteria to show apps on mobile clients because I didn't find any such references.

Hi @ayusharya

Try putting it in an app setup policy. See this document

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/teams-app-setup-policies#:~:text=%20Create%20a%20cus...

Let me know how it goes. Once you have added the app to the app setup policy it can take up to 24 hours to show.

Best, Chris

@Christopher Hoard Thanks for the reply.

As per the below mentioned link, teams mobile client doesn't support personal apps with static tabs.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/teams-app-setup-policies#edit-an-app-setup-policy

This feature is of utmost important in my case as we are deep linking teams bot buttons to tab pages and therefore in-availability of this feature is causing issue in mobile apps. Please let me know, till when we can get this feature or if there's any work around for this issue.

The doc says that it might not appear in mobile clients. Please clarify in which case it will appear and in which case it won't because mentioning might not is creating too much uncertainty.

@ayusharya , We have forwarded your query to mobile platform team, we will update you once we have an response.

Thanks a lot. Looking for a quick help.

@ayusharya

I have received an update from that team is planning to fix this issue in November sprint but due to code freeze on the mobile client side, the fix will be available only in January when app will be released to the store.
Thanks for the update.
