Windows 10

Hello everybody, I've been having an annoying activation problem with my old Microsoft Office 2010 license because of a number of reasons. In order to provide relevant details of my case, I've made a list of peculiar characteristics of this device and this Office 2010 license bought long ago and installed in a corporate CPU now under maintenance. Original Microsoft Office 2010 (Unknown version) license provided in a DVD case was bought in 2011 or 2012 for corporate purposes, purchase not performed by me. The software was originally installed in my corporate CPU, but the case with original intallation DVD was lost over the years after several administrative changes Serial product number was carefully kept by me in an anticipation of the possibility this DVD could be lost, which came true over the years. CPU is monitored in a corporate environment and has a specific Microsoft Windows 10 license unknown by me, which DOES NOT INCLUDE Microfost Office, though. This CPU is an Intel i3 with 16 Gb of RAM memory on a 64-based Windows 10 Home Single Language OS, version 22H2. Microsoft no longer provides support for Office versions older than 2013, therefore preventing me from finding a solution in Microsoft documentation and automated Microsoft Internet tutorials/assistants. I've risked downloading and installing a non-official Microsoft Office 2010 on this CPU from a third-party website with no relationship to Microsoft because of its absence from Microsoft official sources with good results. Activation fails continuously, though, even when I copy and paste the correct serial Microsoft Office 2010 serial number I have in my backups. I have a strong suspicion this has to do with the wrong software version (Home & Student X Pro), but I am not entirely sure of it. Product number error code is 0x8007232B My corporate environment does not provide Microsoft Office to all of its computers because of budgetary constraints and the availability of alternative freeware. Moreover, they are located in an institution completely separated from where I work, because the Windows 10 version I currently use is registered with the local regional Government under an institutional corporate e-mail completely apart from this centralized IT facility. This organization is called PRODESP (https://www.prodesp.sp.gov.br), which in turn is understaffed and deals with all kinds of issues, with a particular focus dedicated to financial issues, because of the countless employees the Government of Sao Paulo State (Brazil, South America) possesses accross the entire State. Recently I tried some alternative Office suites but neither option I tried had an advanced "Find and Replace" tool which only Microsoft Office has, which made me even more strongly attached to my user experience with Microsoft Office 2010 and this is why I would like to continue using it despite this license being now almost 15 years old, and its broad operational compatibility with the current Microsoft Office 365 version, particularly with regards to file formats, recorded MACROs and many other aspects not of interest and neither discussed here. An illustrative screenshot with my problem shown on it is provided below here too. Any help from whoever is able to help me solve this problem would be greatly appreciated, particularly if provided by a Microsoft representative. Thank you.94Views1like1CommentWindows Scheduled Task does not run
I created a task under folder \DandyLabs called "DandyLabsBlogEntryRetriever". This task runs a batch file "dandylabsblogentryretriever.bat": ECHO Running DandyLabsBlogEntryRetriever.. CD C:\path\to\batch "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-14.0.1\bin\java" -cp ".;../jar/commons-io-2.11.0.jar;../jar/mysql-connector-java-8.0.19.jar" com.dandylabs.DandyLabsBlogEntryRetriever && ( (call) ) || ( (PAUSE) ) I then created a scheduled task to automatically run this .bat file at a given time, to run whether I am logged in or not, and to make up to 3 attempts to run, timing out after 30 minutes. The .bat script runs just fine if run manually; the scheduled task will run if you click "Run" and will run just fine, but when it is scheduled to run, nothing happens. The history just says "Task registered" and goes no further; no errors nor warnings are given. I don't know what to do at this point. I am using Windows 10 if that helps. Does anyone have any idea what I may have done wrong to cause this to happen? Please advise, thanks403Views0likes1CommentWindows 10: Empty blue screen upon logging in
Hello, I don't know why, but whenever my laptop with Windows 10 reboots, right after signing in, the very first thing that shows up every time, before even the desktop has the chance to show up or any program can load, is an empty blue screen. It's not the BSOD, but a screen with a blue background similar to the one that appears sometimes after Windows Update installs some updates and Windows asks you to set something up, except that this one doesn't have any text image. Two buttons are available on the bottom: "Repeat" and "Cancel". If I hit "Repeat", it seems the system tries to do something – the rotating loading circles and the words "One moment..." appear very briefly in the center of the screen, but nothing happens and the screen goes blue again with no text. I tried to do this multiple time, but nothing different happens. On the bottom of the screen there are also icons to access accessibility options ("Ease of Access") and audio volume. If you hit "Cancel", the screen disappears, I'm taken to the desktop screen, and the startup process continues normally, with programs opening, etc. Here's how this annoying screen looks: It seems harmless enough, seeing as the solution is simply to hit "Cancel" every time, but the problem is that this laptop is being used as a file server and should be as autonomous as possible, and whenever it starts up, it should be able to complete the whole sign in process unattended to be able to load programs and everything, so I would like to check if anyone has any idea what this screen is and how to get rid of it. I tried restoring Windows to a previous state (from up to 1 month ago) and it didn't solve the problem. Searching the web for similar cases also haven't gotten me anywhere, unfortunately, so any help is appreciated. Thanks, Fabio2.4KViews0likes1CommentWindows 10 21H2 and Windows 11 21H2 both show up as "2009" release
I'm not real sure where to post this, so will try here. I have noticed that for both Windows 10 - 21H2 and Windows 11 - 21H2, the "ReleaseID" value in the Registry is incorrectly shown as "2009". (We are using Windows 10/11 Enterprise.) This is located at this key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion We rely on inventorying this value to determine which computers have which "Feature Update" installed, and therefore, which computers we still need to update. Has Microsoft migrated away from using this value to indicate which Feature Update is installed? Do we need to change our approach to look at the "DisplayVersion" instead of the "ReleaseID"? Or some other value in the registry? Also, Windows 11 has another issue. In the same registry key location, the "ProductName" value is listed as "Windows 10 Enterprise", which of course is incorrect. Are others seeing these same results with these items? Anyone heard if Microsoft has plans to fix these issues?30KViews2likes6Comments
