Word Document suddenly all capital letters in SharePoint

Hi,

I have a word document in SharePoint that looked normal last week, and all of the sudden this week it is in all caps. When I open it in the desktop version of Word it looks normal, but it doesn't for others on my team. Any ideas on why this happened and how I can fix it?

jbuonfig Did you get any solutions? Experiencing similar issues in online word which is shared with others. File looks good in desktop word app

Tuhin_Mohanty I have not gotten any solutions, other than a suggestion that it may be a compatibility issue.

jbuonfig First, investigate browser settings or extensions that might alter text display on SharePoint. Ensuring the document's language settings are uniform is also important, as inconsistencies can lead to display issues. Updating everyone's Office suite and web browsers is essential to rule out compatibility issues.

Clearing the browser cache can help, as cached data might cause display problems. Trying different web browsers could identify if the issue is browser-specific. Additionally, examine SharePoint settings or custom scripts that could affect document rendering. Check for accidentally activated accessibility features that might change text display. If these steps don't help, reaching out to Microsoft support might be necessary. Alternatively, copying the content into a new document to see if the issue persists could bypass file-specific issues.

Hi - a couple of users (including myself) within my business are having the same issue. Only seems to be on certain documents, and opens fine in the desktop app as well as the 'view' mode of Word online, but not in the 'reviewing' or 'editing' modes.

I've sat with some other colleagues, and we've collectively tried BarryGoblon's suggestions, as well as scanning the document for issues, checking formatting, checking accessibility settings on Sharepoint, with no luck.

Current work around is advising the users to open the docs in the desktop app, which of course adds an additional step to the editing process. Would love to be updated with possible fixes to try, please!
