Syncing issue Sharepoint online and Windows Explorer

I may be missing something here so please help if you can.  My issue is we have a large SharePoint library and have chosen to sync the folders to the computer and be able to see the files looking through windows explorer. 

 

That being said, I can view the files and the sub folders but files that are added directly to the main library do not show unless they are added by me directly.  When added by a member of my team they do not show in Explorer but I can view them in SharePoint Online.
