SP133540 - Problem accessing SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business sites
Any further news on this? I don't see any news comms from Microsoft despite saying it would be ready by last Friday? I can't believe there aren't more people complaining about this.
Current status: We've validated the new fix and have begun the deployment process in the affected environment. We estimate that the fix will reach the majority of affected users by Friday, May 25, 2018.
Preliminary root cause: A recent update to the way SharePoint Online handles NTLM authentication challenges and responses introduced a code issue that is affecting external sharing scenarios.

This issue has apparently been resolved now.
Start time: Monday, March 19, 2018, at 12:00 AM UTC
End time: Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 11:14 AM UTC
Preliminary root cause: A recent update to the way SharePoint Online handles NTLM authentication challenges and responses introduced a code issue that affected external sharing scenarios.
Next steps:
- We're reviewing our standard service update procedures to avoid similar impact in the future.
- We're reviewing our monitoring services to look for ways to reduce detection time and more quickly restore service.
This is the final update for the event. - Larry CaseyMay 22, 2018Brass Contributor
What I really dislike about Office 365 support is that not a single notice went to customers with a regular update and absolutely no communication was drafted in order to provide customers with a detailed and thorough explanation of the issue.
As an Office 365 Global administrator, it is my responsibility and obligation as a IT professional to keep my clients fully aware of any issues and track and advise of ongoing issues. Microsoft does not have any courtesy or consideration for its Office 365 Administrators!
I have clients that do not understand the cloud fully. They Think that since it is the cloud a big corporation like Microsoft could not make a mistake. In fact, They blamed ME for this happening saying I missed configured the service!
I opened several support cases, one Microsoft support technician wrote in 3rd grade language , misspelling, and completely no knowledge of the issue that they THINK the issue is with the service and are investigating. Several other tickets went unanswered, HOW am I supposed to keep my job if Microsoft doesn't get out front and support me as a global administrator?
I have convinced my client this is a Microsoft Outage and I had nothing at all to do with it. But Microsoft lacks any consideration, courtesy or communication skills at all!!!
Of all the great work and development that is done by Microsoft, after all these years as existence of a corporation, they still cant get one very simple concept to work. " Great Support"
