Yes, in SharePoint Online, it is possible to prevent site owners from changing the "permission to share" setting and restrict the ability to share data to only site owners. To achieve this, you can follow these steps:

  1. As a SharePoint administrator, go to the SharePoint admin center.
  2. Select the specific site collection or site where you want to enforce the restriction.
  3. Click on "Policies" in the left navigation menu.
  4. Choose "Sharing" from the policies options.
  5. In the sharing settings, select the option "Only owners can share files and folders."
  6. Save the changes.

By selecting this option, only site owners will have the permission to share data and control the sharing settings. Members or other users with lower permissions will not be able to change the "permission to share" setting or share files and folders.

It's important to note that as a SharePoint administrator, you need to have appropriate permissions and access rights to access the SharePoint admin center and apply these settings.

hello,

thank u for the response.

"and control the sharing settings."

that's the problem, we don't want owners to be allowed to change this setting.
