Sharepoint List - adding a huge number of columns

Hi everyone,

I´m being asked to add a huge number of columns into a sharepoint list (800, most of them of type "single line of text").

From what I understood, this is impossible because of Sharepoint limits :

Is my only option, to create several list with the same item, displaying for each list different columns ?
