share files between 3 users- Sharepoint vs Onedrive

Copper Contributor

We have a small organization with 3 users.  All have a 365 microsoft account.

We would like to upload to sharepoint\onedrive  about 20 giga of data- one folder with office documents and PDF.

After that we would like to share(sync) the folder to the local pc between the 3 users so that each user will see the exact same files .

What would be the best way to do the above?

To first upload to sharepoint and then sync to the local Pcs?

In addition, is there a file limit of files that can be uploaded to sharepoint?

Or,to upload to onedrive for business

and then sync to each local pc?

Thanks,

Omer

SharePoint technically is the better way to go, because then all 3 can equally have ownership of the documents and it's irrelevant if someone leaves your org. But you are limited to space for your entire org which is 1TB + 10GB per licensed user. But since you are doing 20GB should be fine.

Here are the storage limits for SharePoint: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/sharepoint-online-service-description...

It explains how many recommended files, but you don't want to exceed 300,000 for syncing total. But the library itself can handle millions.

I'd also recommend setting up sync either method you choose first, then put the files locally in your Sync folder and let the sync upload the documents. Doing that much over the web might be problematic / slower. Using sync is copy and forget and it'll finish.
