Page Templates

When we create new pages in a communication site we are usually presented with 3 page template choices like the multiple column page and the blank page.  Is it possible and supported by Microsoft in creating other page templates so that other layouts/web parts are added by default as the page is created?  Thank you so much for any guidance.

  • Maybe you could use Pnp Site Core Library and something similar to site design scripts can be done for creating modern page templates.

Pnp Site Core Library has some customization options for modern pages including adding sections, webparts etc..

There are some uservoice requests open for the same already

Any news around this yet? Today we can create page templates per site, but I want to be able to use tenant-wide templates. Since we cannot create modern team site templates (at least not easily), it would be very nice to at least be able to create page templates that can be used anywhere.
