Missing manage access configuration

Copper Contributor

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding manage access menu.

Suddenly, Can View option in Manage Access is missing as seen below. With this the group member can edit the page that I created. Is there any other way around so the group can't edit the page looks.

From my experience, when the page inherits permissions from a parent site or list with more restrictive settings, the "Can view" option might not be available. To address this, check if the page is inherited. If it is, break the inheritance by clicking the ellipsis (...) in the top right, navigating to "Permissions," and selecting "Break inheritance." After this, you can set permissions for the page independently.

If the group has only been assigned the "Read" permission for the site or list, they won't see the "Can view" option. To remedy this, grant the group the "Contribute" permission, which not only allows viewing page permissions but also editing. To do this, go to "Permissions," select the group, and choose "Contribute" from the list of permissions.
