The datasheet view is perfect when you want the users to go directly into edit mode as soon as they click the link to a vew, eg. if they want to add a new agenda item (if using list for meeting agenda), or to add several items to a list. In Office 365 modern views, the possibility to create a datasheet view is not available in the view-menu in the list. To create a datasheet view I need to go to list settings, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find views and there create a view. This is the classic experience, still I believe the option to create a datasheet view should be available in the modern view menu.
