On my SP site, it's read only for everyone but I now need to grant edit access to one Excel file so I created a new document library to store the Excel file. Now I need to give access to that library to only certain users.
I created a new group
I went into the document library and updated it so it would stop inheriting permissions.
I then added the users to that new group.
But now, that group is listed in all of my other document libraries along with the users I added to it. How can I only have that one group appear in that document library?

Solution@Bryan365 Did you provide any site permissions to SharePoint group when you created it?
You should not grant any permissions to group on site while creating it:
You can directly grant permissions on library after breaking permissions inheritance: Customize permissions for a SharePoint list or library
