Project in teams not opening task chat window
Hi, I have been using Microsoft Project for the web and the Teams chat connection with my development team. Unfortunately, something has happened since Thursday 13-02-2025 that means the chat window is not opening for a task (Microsoft Teams -> Channel -> Project -> Task -> Window) It is extremely annoying, as we use the chat to show examples of development (screenshots, etc.) Does anyone have the same problem, or a solution to how to solve the problem? Can't access PWA through REST Api
I'm trying to access our project web app using Project Server's REST API. I have already went though the configuration from Registering a new App : https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/_layouts/15/appregnew.aspx Then, I created the authorization settings https://tenant.sharepoint.com/sites/pwa/_layouts/15/appinv.aspx with this XML Permission Request. <AppPermissionRequests AllowAppOnlyPolicy="true"> <AppPermissionRequest Scope="http://sharepoint/content/sitecollection/web" Right="FullControl" /> </AppPermissionRequests> I was easily able to retrieve the Bearer Token for the request in Postman, so I guess the above steps worked fine. I receive an error when I try to access any of the endpoints using the given Bearer Token : {{site_url}}/_api/ProjectServer/{{some_endpoint}} (I've also tried using ProjectData instead of ProjectServer, but no luck either) When I click Send I received the following message { "error": { "code": "-1, System.InvalidOperationException", "message": { "lang": "fr-FR", "value": "User:<customercontent></customercontent> not found in Active directory or in project db." } } } I've literally checked every thread about the subject, but I can't seem to find any workaround. Have I missed a step? It seems like the authentication is trying to find a user in AD or in the Project Database instead of using the Bearer authentication. I've tried entering this URL in a browser AFTER I authenticated with my Microsoft account, and it worked.
Major Functionality Change in Project Online Desktop: Copy-Paste No Longer Transfers Full Task Data
Hi, I'm having a problem with the task copy-paste functionality, which I use very frequently, in the most recent release of Project Online Desktop Client. I'd love any help you can provide. Description of the Problem: Recently, when copying tasks in Microsoft Project Online Desktop Client, only partial task data is being copied and pasted. Previously, when selecting an entire task row (including summary tasks) and copying it, all task-related data would be copied, including: Resource assignments Work Assignment units Duration Start and finish dates Predecessors and successors Task constraints (e.g., "As soon as possible") Notes All sub-task information for summary tasks (with correct indentation) Upon pasting, this data would be transferred in its entirety, allowing for efficient duplication of task structures and bulk modifications using find/replace. Now, when performing the same action, the behavior has changed. After copying, only the task name is pasted. The following issues occur: Incomplete data transfer: Only the task name is pasted, and no other task details (resource assignments, dates, durations, etc.) are carried over. Loss of summary task structure: For summary tasks, the sub-tasks are not properly indented; instead, the sub-task names are pasted as independent tasks, with no hierarchical structure. Task constraint issue: Pasted tasks now seem to have a "Finish no later than..." constraint applied, which appears to be derived from the original finish dates. This suggests the finish dates are being pasted as fixed constraints, overriding the original "As soon as possible" constraint that the task originally had. It seems as though the copy-paste functionality is not pulling all data fields from the task row but instead is only capturing a subset (task name and finish date). This behavior is different from what used to happen, where all task attributes would be included in the copy-paste operation. Is this an intended change or a bug? Has anyone found a workaround to ensure all task details are copied when using copy-paste functionality in the Desktop Client? Can I adjust settings to restore the original copy-paste behavior? Could this be related to a recent update or settings change in Microsoft Project? Are there any known changes to how Microsoft Project handles copying tasks between project files, or perhaps with Project Online Desktop Client specifically? Project Publish failed
Hello, Please assist , recently when i publish in project web i got this error Recently in ms project there is no option to publish project while it was there Error Message i got Your ProjectPublish job failed. Its current state is FailedNotBlocking. It was 0 complete. It entered the queue at 08/29/2023 01:38:01. Hi, I have a project created in Project Online and need to share the .mpp project file with a client. However, although there are options to export as Excel or PDF, I am unable to export to .mpp. Is exporting from Project Online to .mpp even possible? I have been referring to this article - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/projectonline/connect-to-project-online-with-the-project-online-desktop-client which looked promising. I am on a Mac but I have a colleague with a Windows laptop and he has Project Professional desktop client. Has anyone tried this approach? But I am unable to figure out the Project Server URL referred to in the article. I have tried the URL of my Project Online project but this doesn't work. Any help here will be really appreciated.
End dates of Subtask are appearing wrong
Hi there, I'm facing issue with import of xml file. When I import the file, Finish date of task having subtask, gets disturb. I am attaching the screenshot from xml file indicating the dates that I have set in it Heres the screenshot from Microsoft Project when I import the xml file After going through multiple solution, I found one of them partially working which suggested that i should turn off project calculation after each edit After applying this setting and re-loading the xml, Finish date of parent task appear corrected but for its subtasks which has duration greater than one, it still appears wrong Can someone please suggest me a solution for this ?
Getting Project Server data using REST APIs in ADF
Hello, I have created a pipeline that copies Project Server data from REST APIs to a JSON Datalake and then to my SQL Server database (SSMS). I was inspired by the following blog: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/projectsupport/reading-project-online-odata-with-azure-data-factory/3616300 I built the pipeline like in the blog and it looks like this: The first 5 activities retrieve login information necessary to access Project Server. All that information is brought together with a concat in the next step. I also have a access token (bearer token). Next, I have three different copy steps, one for each table of Project Server data that I want to copy (Projects, Resources & Assignments). Each table has its own REST API. The Projects REST API look like this: The other two are the same only with ‘Assignments’ and ‘Resources’ at the end. The Copy activity looks like this: The Sink is a JSON Datalake. For the mapping part, I only put the ProjectId column for testing purposes. My main issue is the amount of rows that the API’s copy. Firstly, the Projects API copies only copies exactly 300 rows, meanwhile it should be 626. The Resources API copies way more rows: 838, which is the right amount. The Assignments API copies exactly 1000 rows. The Assignments are a large Fact table of more than 40 000 rows. Another issue is the rest of the output I receive from the Copy activity. The output does not give any info about ‘offset’ or ‘pages’, so I also cannot use pagination. I tried to work around this with adding "?top=1000" to the API URL and by using relative URL’s, an Until loop, but nothing really seems to work. Does someone have experience in this niche issue? I haven’t found much documentation (the blog also did not mention anything about the count of rows) and I am new to ADF so any help is more than welcome! Thank you in advance!
