Board View Missing for "My Tasks"
Hi there,
We have adopted Microsoft Teams & Planner over the last two years for project management of high volume residential construction projects.
We have become very reliant on the "Board View" within Planner. Each user has historically been able within Teams to view all tasks assigned to them across all Teams in the My Tasks tab of the Planner app, and the tasks show up as "tiles". We have become heavy users of the "show on card" functionality to ensure that multiple assignees can keep track of tasks concurrently.
We are concerned as several of our users appear to have had changes to their desktop apps in the last two days which has added the new "list" view associated with the amalgamation of To Do and Planner (ie. the new "Tasks" app). What is most concerning is that the Board view appears to be restricted to each individual Team now, and we cannot see how to replicate the former combined Board view (for all Teams together) that we have become so reliant on.
We would appreciate prompt attention to this item - at this point if we cannot get this resolved, we may be forced to look into alternate task management platforms that provide more fluid access to tasks across multiple Teams concurrently.
I have attached a photo of the "old view" which is preferred (Board view showing My Tasks across ALL teams concurrently) VS. the "new list view" which for us is problemmatic.
Thanks,
Lesley Hutton

Unfortunately, typical for Microsoft. Have a great program and worsen it for no reason. There is no reason at all to kill the board view. That's the whole point of a Kanban system. Would it have been so hard to just offer a list and board view? My team can't see any labels, and the list view is completely confusing. Unbelievable how you can be so wrong about the needs of the users.

My whole team works out of multiple planners to monitor stats, so we all use the board view in tasks assigned to manage our individual workloads. We also use labels to sort our work, now in list view we can not see labels and all origination is out the window. This change appeared suddenly in the middle of the day and everything has come to a grinding halt, it has destroyed our workflow functionality and incapacitated us all while we figure out how to work around this surprise nightmare.
Please return this incredibly accessible, customisable useful and intuitive organisational function. - JoHrCopper Contributor
For us, it is essential that we can see all plans in Board view (grouped by Plan) in My Tasks as before. The new layout is not better than an excel sheet and it is impossible to follow all the parallell projects we have ongoing. If this is not changed back to how it was asap, we will need to find an alternative software solution for our organisation.

Dear Brian-Smith,
Not very nice to remove the very main purpose of a cross projects tool. List view is just horrible for that purpose.
To be honest, I almost don't use Planner anymore since your October update, having to switch from Project to Project is very restrictive and does not offer a global view when handling multiple projects.
However and at least we know that the feature will be back... so I guess it is a "Thank you" for that information.
I hope that until January I will not have switched to another product.
Thanks

We need to get this functionality back asap!!!!
Can not believe that Microsoft could not have seen beforehand that many people are using this.

We saw before hand - and also warned you it wouldn't be there at launch. If you don't have access to the Message Center maybe get your admin to Sync to Planner, then assign you to any Planner messages that come through - like MC887371
- jacob2210Copper ContributorSeems that this issue is also there in the new planner! Boardview for My Tasks is gone.

The board view for all task assigned to me across multiple teams and plans is gone as of this morning as well with the update to the new Planner for web view. I hate it so much. I need to see the board view of everything assigned to me so I can sort by time frames of due dates instead of looking at an ugly, long list of everything due in the foreseeable future.
- evatillykoCopper ContributorIndeed, same problem here. Why does Microsoft think people don't need/use Board view in the All Tasks view? This is completely messing up my way of working and staying on track of things. It's even the reason I never used the To Do app. It cannot be that hard to allow people to choose between the list or board view (or even schedule and charts) if that is their preferred way of working?

I found an easy workaround.
Go to https://tasks.office.com, sign in with your corporate account, then create a new (simple) plan in the planner website. Bingo... you have your private planner.Next, pin the tab in the browser (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) or install this website as an app in Windows.
- NoelErvineCopper ContributorIs there any possibility we can have the board view back for personal tasks, i know it's in the shared plans, but I need it or i have to move back to Trello or something else...
Please- Julz_ysfCopper Contributor
Hey NoelErvine
Workaround could be to make a Team of just yourself.
Then '+' to add a Tab "Tasks by planner and to do"
You should then get the board viewIt still doesn't link to lists though.
Awkward.- Josh740Copper Contributor
Just adding my name to the list of people who would really love to have Boards view in My Tasks. Incredibly stupid that I have to create a new "Team" of one just to be able to use the board view, especially since some corporate IT groups require Teams to have more than one owner.
People need to realize that everyone has a different workflow. Just because Microsoft's internal discussions might not recognize uses of the board view for personal organization doesn't mean other people haven't found very effective ways of using it for this.
- ahewesCopper ContributorThe best way I have found to see Tasks from varying Teams aggregate into one Board View is by using the web-based Planner. Its the only way for me to see a big picture board view of all of my tasks across multiple client. Just need to log into your microsoft office account on your browser and navigate to Planner from there. Good luck!
- LauraBullardCopper ContributorAny updates on this? At least let us have the option to use the board view? The dragging and dropping wasn't the main feature for us. It was just easier to see things at a glance & big picture.
As with everything else these days, convenience is key. When we're busy & need to see status', structure, etc, at a glance, we don't get that bc:
- Buckets are silo'd. No more big picture view.
- We're now spending time sifting through long lists (rather than glancing at buckets separated out)
- We now have to open up each task to see the notes/checklists, even though we indicated that we want to see it on the card (aka, at a glance).
- We only see little colored boxes for tags we've assigned, but can no longer see at a glance what those colored tags represent. We have to hover over each one. If this were to stand, we'd need a legend.- Charlotte_AgencysideCopper ContributorAnyone know if Microsoft have sorted this yet? Thanks.

I'm surprised this hasn't been reported as a bigger issue. We've managed an organization-wide transformational project just on the board / cards view. We need this back asap.
