Board View Missing for "My Tasks"

The board view for all task assigned to me across multiple teams and plans is gone as of this morning as well with the update to the new Planner for web view. I hate it so much. I need to see the board view of everything assigned to me so I can sort by time frames of due dates instead of looking at an ugly, long list of everything due in the foreseeable future.

Indeed, same problem here. Why does Microsoft think people don't need/use Board view in the All Tasks view? This is completely messing up my way of working and staying on track of things. It's even the reason I never used the To Do app. It cannot be that hard to allow people to choose between the list or board view (or even schedule and charts) if that is their preferred way of working?

    Sorry for the inconvenience here, and the good news is that the Board view should be back early in the new year.  We often need to make difficult decisions on which features make it into initial releases and these decisions were also explained in MC887371.  Please read the Message Center - or better still have Planner get the MC posts for you.  Here is an extract: 

    The following features will not be available at launch but will be available by early 2025:

    • Open plans associated with a Loop task list
    • Board view in the Assigned to me view
    • Add Assigned to me tasks or a plan to an external calendar with an iCalendar link. NOTE: Existing iCalendar links will continue to work. New iCalendar link creation is not supported, and existing iCalendar links cannot be disabled while this feature is not available.
    • Undoing the deletion of a task

     

    The post also includes other features that we are not planning to bring back in the new Planner - so please let us know if any of these others are deal breakers for you.

      It is really hard to understand why this essential part of Planner is not in the release. This area is where most people work and get there overview. That is the strenght of using Planner. It is hard to believe this will not be avaliable for several months! Could you not forsee this would mess up so many businesses? You choose Microsoft for the stability, but that is apparently not reliable.


      I am also surprised (no actually not) that the features users have asked about forever is not in the release either. Such as notification to the actual task owner when there is a new comment.

      Will the backgrounds also be back in 2025?

      Hi Brian - thank you for letting us know. I tried to access the message center to read the full message, but apparently only admins for our org can access that. Including an excerpt was very helpful and I appreciate that. I'm still very disappointed that I will have to work without the board view for several months until the feature is reinstated, but at least now I know it will be returning.
