Urgent: Accidental Deletion of OneDrive Files - Need Assistance for Recovery

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I hope this message finds you well. About 2 hours ago, in an attempt to delete only the OneDrive folders and files locally, I unintentionally deleted them from both the OneDrive account and, mistakenly, from both the primary and secondary Recycle Bins. My Microsoft account is associated with the university where I am currently studying. Since the deleted folders are crucial to me, is there any way they can be recovered? I tried restoring a previous version of OneDrive from yesterday or a few days ago, but it only states that the folders and files are not found in the Recycle Bin. Could you please advise if there is any way to recover these deleted folders?

Thank you.

Normally only your university IT department can help as they manage your account, and may be able to retrieve deleted files. How do you have access to your secondary recycle bin? After that is gone, there is only a matter of days that Microsoft can recover files.
I've contacted my IT department immediately and they tried to fix it. But since it is deleted from my secondary recycle bin they can't do anything. Do you think is there a way to contact Microsoft to ask them to give it back and if there is a way is admin of my account the only one that can do it?
Your IT would know how to do that but the time you're wasting asking on public forums has almost certainly run out the narrow window of time for Microsoft to do anything
