Filename history?

I have tried my best to search in the forums here and google but there seems no answers.

What happened was that one of my files was renamed to something totally different (seems by accident) and there seems no way to "restore history" for filenames in particular. The restore version history somehow only works if there is change in contents of the file but not the filename itself.

Does anyone else also have the same issue? Did you manage to resolve it?
