Can't sign into Office 365 on Mac book

Hi, I just downloaded Office 365 on my new Macbook Air (2020), when I open word/excel/etc I enter my account email (this is my college email as I access office through them), it then brings me to my organisations log in, when I enter my password and click sign in the password disappears and nothing happens. I am certain it is the correct email and password. Any suggestions?

@Megahern does it work on any other device, i.e. smartphone, tablet, etc.?

You can download the apps and try to sign in there, just to make sure the login generally works.

 

If the issue also occurs there your college provider may have some issue on his side (it seems as if he is using federated access which requires creating a user in his on-premises directory).
