What’s New in Microsoft Teams Feature Spotlight – Pin or Hide your video in meetings

Community Manager

Hey Teams Community,

We’re discussing a new feature each week mentioned in the monthly What’s New in Microsoft Teams and this week we’re looking at the ability to pin or hide your own video in a Teams meeting.

It can be challenging to present in a meeting for many reasons. Users may share their screen or go over a PowerPoint deck, but the space around it can be distracting.

Now, Teams allows you to pin or hide your video on the meeting stage. Pinning your video gives you the ability to see your own video in the increased size on your screen. Inversely, you can also hide your own video, reducing distractions during calls while still having your video available for other participants.

To pin or hide your video, simply click on the ellipsis (…) in your video feed and select Pin for me or Hide for me.

Do you keep your video on while presenting? When you’re presenting, do you find it difficult to watch yourself speak and expect to now start hiding your video? Will you start pinning it?
