Unable to create a Shared Channel even though option is turned on in Global Policy

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I am trying to create Shared Channels under my Teams but the option isn't available to me.  I only have the options for Standard and Private.

I have checked the Teams policies and there is only one policy (Global) and the option for Shared Channels is turned on there.

I am not sure why it's not available to me or my people.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Toby

Can you confirm that before I can do this:

Enable Public preview

To enable Public preview on a desktop or web client, perform the following tasks:

  1. Select the three dots to the left of your profile to display the Teams menu.
  2. Select About > Public preview.
  3. Select Switch to Public preview.

I have to do this?

Public preview for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows

Public preview is turned off by default. When Public preview is turned on, users have access to features that are in public preview on enabled Teams Rooms. To turn on Public preview, add <EnablePublicPreview>True</EnablePublicPreview> to your XML configuration file.

Now where can I find this XML File??? I am sorry to say, but this is NOT AT ALL USERFRIENDLY :(
