Teams is KILLING my Mac Every Day
- Jul 14, 2022
Hi everyone, we're pleased to announce Microsoft Teams for Apple Silicon, which on the M1/M2 ARM builds, will have significantly faster performance than what's seen during the Rosetta emulation today! Here's our official roadmap ID for this release; Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365. More on this can be found here; Announcing Microsoft Teams optimized for Apple silicon - Microsoft Tech Community.
Users should see a significant performance boost with this release. And for the Intel Macs out there, we're still thinking about you! We have some large performance fixes coming that will help improve overall performance for the Intel version as well.
Thanks,
Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM
Have you tried the latest osx-arm64 builds?
These builds can be downloaded from https://github.com/ItzLevvie/MicrosoftTeams-msinternal/blob/master/defconfig#L17
We're still in the process of gathering an update to share. Once we have it, I'll post here.
- Boss_429Jun 28, 2022Copper ContributorWe continue to have users on MacBooks that cannot participate productively in Teams meetings. Please, please, please... What is it going to take for MS to get Teams fixed for Macs???
Users are clamoring for Zoom because MS cannot get there @#$@ together.- NZPACMANJun 28, 2022Brass Contributor
You are talking to the wrong people. Convince everyone else to use Zoom and forget MS Teams altogether!

Boss_429 yeh Zoom is way better. It allows you to have a second screen so you can look at a presentation and also the presenter. It also has individual chat and better functionality. The only hassle is having to open the App to organise a meeting rather than doing it directly in 365.
Time for IT folk to let go their MS obsession and us Apps like Zoom.

NZPACMAN Which company would change all their software base because a minority of employees using Apple computers are having trouble with a unique buggy application?
To use Zoom, Google Metting, or another app is not a solution if all the company is based on Microsoft software.
