Teams Calls going direct to Voicemail

Hi,

We have a number of reports today that calls are randomly going directly to voicemail without ringing.

This is happening for our Teams Calling enabled users, and also for our regular Teams users - for teams-to-teams calls.

Getting the users to sign out of teams completely and logging back in seems to resolve the issue, but its still causing massive issues within the business.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar today?

I have a ticket open with MS for this already, but wanted to put it out there to the wider community to see perhaps a patch is causing the issues (as it is patching week, and this has happened before).

Thanks

Tim

  • Hi,
we had the same problem yesterday. Our tenant was missing some CNAME- and SRV-entries for Skype for Business (yes, not Teams) for some of our domains. It was also necessary to make these entries for domains, which are registered in our tenant, but not used by any user.

You can find the needed entries, when you go to "Settings" > "Domains" in the Microsoft 365 admin center, select the appropriate domain > DNS records > Manage DNS > Continue > Advanced Options > Activate "Skype for Business".

After these entries were made, we also had to set the "Coexistence mode" to "Teams only". You can find this setting in the Teams admin center > Teams > Teams upgrade settings.

It took approximately 30 minutes for the changes to take effect.

    Best regards

    Sebastian
