Reporting Individual User Activity in Teams

Copper Contributor

Working in a Further Education College we would like to be able to report on an individual attendance to calls both voice and video. As an education organization we have an obligation to show when a student attends a meeting as well as duration they were in the meeting/class. In time it would be good to be able to:

  • Create a report that shows a specific team who attended and how long they attended for
  • Run the report showing a specified date range
  • Create a class register
  • Save generated reports
  • Export the data to Excel
  • Show activity for the Team site (not as important)

For education where it is imperative that we show this data we must be able to report on student activity in Teams, especially as we look at new ways we will be teaching.

Is there a roadmap to better reporting in Teams?

Participant report is coming soon - as in the next few weeks/month. Needs to be enabled in your tenant by Powershell. Once done, you will be able to download the report from the meeting which will show attendance, when they joined and left. From what I understand this should generate either a CSV or excel file which you could store in the Team.

This will be very raw at first, but as Laurie says in the tweet it's just a v1.0 and they will be working on refining it

Hope that helps to answer your question!
